'13 FL RB Derrick Henry (Bama commit)

Everything points to Bama, folks. Get used to it. Would be a huge surprise if he were to commit here. A pleasant one, but don't expect it to happen.

If I was in his shoes, this is the way I would look at it and I hope he does too. Go to Bama and just be another 5 star and just another number of come to UT and be a folk lore before you step on campus. He could become a stud here and we would let him play RB. UT has struggled lately in the NFL draft but we still take more snaps on Sunday than Bama. With that being said, I am afraid he goes to Bama, but I hope I am wrong. His 500 yards in one game may be more than we get all october.

Come to UT where they throw in the redzone and have a pass happy OC. Or go to a Bama team that pounds people to death with the run. Your answer would be what without the Orange Shades on????

Absolutely. Chaney is gone soon and even Dooley has to know that in order to win in this league, you have to have a successful rushing offense. At alabama, he gets one year as a feature back. Here, he gets a minimum of three years.

Announcement moved to 3:30pm. Apparently with all the family and friends attending the school does not want a major disruption during school hours.

I highly doubt he is looking at things that way. That isn't to say some recruits dont, but very few of the elite guys do or the same schools wouldn't be signing the best recruiting classes year after year after year. They want to play for winners plain and simple and arent afraid of competition.

Until Dooley wins some big games, especially against the big 4 it's going to be very difficult for him to land these types of guys and to be able to make a real move towards the top of the league.

Also it appears ESPN will be there for the announcement now since they were coming in for the game and the time is now 3:30pm. The school is also have a big pep rally after school for the game.

It's not a competition thing. No one should be afraid of competition. A rational person should see that 3 or more years of being the feature back is better than playing a backup roll or third down back for 2 or 3 years and getting one year as the feature back. The key is these kids are 18 and are as far from rational as John L Smith.

Trent Richardson was only the feature RB at UA for one year. A backup the other 2. Did not hurt him. These kids see that you only need 1 great year at UA and you can get to the NFL and a lot healthier than a Lattimore who will go with less shelf life in the NFL.

I also got excited about Bryce Brown & we all know how that worked out.

Yes we do but talent wasn't the issue at all with that guy. He would have been a great RB at Tennessee had he stuck it out and not had outside influences messing with him. Bottom line is you need talent like that to win big in this league.

This is how you personally view the situation. I am willing to guarantee Henry himself shares absolutely nothing in common with your POV.

Another problem with this board is people attempting to put themselves in the recruits' shoes.

With all the hype these players get it's no wonder they turn into divas.

This is exactly true.

I have felt we were a back up option for henry the whole time, I also think Henry knows that if UT had its choice it would be D.Green if we had to pick between them.

Not saying that plays into his choice.... but he has to know that right?

or am I way off base?
