He Said during the week before the game, it's not the end of the world if we lose this game to florida. has he not heard about the streak the pain and the suffering this program has endured these last 8 years??

He has. He just hasn't figured out how to remedy it...

He just telling you not to call for his head yet. Florida will not go undefeated so we have to learn from this one and put that experience into how we prepare for the rest of the SEC opponents on the schedule. We are not out of the East yet. Just have to hope this team bounces back from a tough loss

Do you not know anything but meltdown mode?

Honestly what else could he say. Its a long season still ahead and while this loss hurts to the bone I'm not ready to give up on these kids. We were the better team for 3 1/2 quarters tonight. I know that ain't gonna cut it but Dooley knows his job is on the line.

We have just got to learn how to finish games.

it bothers me that a head coach would say that. to me you want to win every game. saying what he said makes it sound if losing it is ok. and i am sure some players think this when the adversity hits the fan. they say oh coach said it's not the end of the world. it be ok.

Dooley once worked for a guy who compared losing a football game to Pearl Harbor?

Loved how Dooley said we hung with them through 3 quarters... last year it was 2. Maybe next year we hang for 4 and lose by a game winning field goal.

Um, he's right. It's not the end of the world. It sucked, and the last 20 minutes of the game were a disaster. Now let's learn from it what we can, take care of business against Akron and take another shot in Athens two weeks from now.

Florida exposed a lot of weaknesses in our team tonight. We brought in what was essentially a new coaching staff, and there were bound to be bumps in the round. Now we get to see if these guys are worth anything. If they are, we'll adjust and we'll be better for it.

...having said all of that, I find it easier and easier to agree with the people who believe Chaney is not the answer. He just does way too many things that leave me scratching my head.

Nah it was just the home field advantage. Next year we will be back down to 2.

I don't want to give up on the team. I want to like them and believe. However, sometimes you just know that a coach has a limit in success. Dooley's best is a botched ending at LSU. If beating the Cincy and NC States of the world are now our signatures, we have a long rebuild still in progress that i am not sure has a favorable ending with Dooley as HC. This week was fun to play like a big program again but in reality it was just overhype. As fans we are caught in a tough spot. Scream for change while disrupting the program or get ready for 4 more years of mediocre wins and top SEC matchup losses.

This was the hard part. Everyone was so excited I think because it felt a little bit like UT was starting its way back to elite, and then it just dropped like a ton of rocks.

Our fan base set itself up for this. We couldn't run the ball with consistency against NCst or GAst. Going into this year, we knew we wouldn't beat good defenses without a running game , yet we ignored that fact because of 2 trash wins.

+1 million. My thoughts exactly. It is made more difficult too IMO by the fact that CDD is a likeable guy and seems to run a clean program.

For 3 1/2 quarters? Try 2. Gave up 200+ yards in the the 3rd. That's not being better.

That has been the party line for Dooley's entire tenure. This is year three. It isn't getting fixed. I am sick of seeing UT play with anyone for about half of the game and then falling off the face of the ****ing planet as the other team scores at will while our offense simultaneously tanks.

That's the funny thing. The running game looked good in the first half, and that first scoring drive of the third. After that it seemed like we stopped coming at them with those big sets (off-set i, bullard in as a TE, ect), and started trying to do everything from the pistol/shotgun.

I thought neal ran the ball fairly well. Chaney just abandoned it in the second half.
