Great to hear about Lewis. Love that. could be three that play at that spot. Wondering what Brewer role will be if he doesn't start.

I miss you Christian Harris.

From the articles you posted the only returning starter at LB ruled ineligible and their top reserve from last year graduated. They lost the backup at WLB to an acl tear a couple weeks ago and they're still waiting on an incoming LB to be cleared. They only have one LB with experience and he missed all of last year with a knee injury and only had 19 tackles the previous year.

Their Wr corps is almost as laughable as the LB's as far as experience. They only return two Wr's/TE's that caught at least 10 passes last season and one of them got hurt on August 11 and just had surgery. He's likely out for a while although coach TOB wouldn't say how long. So they only have one WR with decent experience.

Also, according to the article below, their oline ranked 98th last year in sacks allowed. They ranked 109th in rushing.

Here's what it says about their D

What to look for on defense: The Pack to get run on more than a broken-armed catcher. NC State is facing an imperfect storm on defense. The defensive tackles are unproven sophomores. The linebackers have been gutted to the studs. And since the secondary is terrific, opponents will be content to play smash-mouth football. The Wolfpack will know what’s coming, yet still might not stand a chance. Since the corners can hold up in man-coverage, look for the safeties, Earl Wolff and Brandan Bishop, to spend as much time as possible near the line of scrimmage.

Scout.com: 2012 NC State Preview - The Time Is Now

Wow, I was already expecting a fairly easy win in Atlanta but we're gonna shred these guys. THIS. GAME. WILL. NOT. BE. CLOSE.

Easy bro. We've had teams in the past suffer a bunch of personnel losses and and still either play us close or beat us. I'm pumped and confident too but lets not start thinking this is going to be a blow out.

This Vols team is much much better than last year's squad. That Cincy offense was better than NC State O this year. This offense of ours is a Championship level offense and the schedule plays into our hands. Only one big game on the road(UGA). The defense will be better than last year's squad too. AJ and Maggitt were August true freshman not even EEs. They'll have more help with Sentimore, Couch(who wasn't a help most of last year), and McCullers up front. Sentimore is a true difference maker up front. The secondary is back with much better coaching and more experience. Randolph and Waggner can be very good in this defense this year. The other two spots worry me(even though both guys have talent) a bit but we won't win games this year just locking teams down so I'm not as worried. This team is also very motivated and out for some revenge after being nationally embarassed. So I really expect them to punish some teams bad while beating some others in impressive fashion. We really matchup well with a lot of teams. The only squad I'm truly worried about is UGA. That front seven can give us major problems if we can't run against them.

Gotcha thanks. I guess I just don't feel as confident as most people on here I don't know why .

Man, I am glad to remember this thread was in this forum. I was getting the heebee jeebees in the football forum with the silliness. Good posts all around on here.

I don't understand the love out there for NCSU from several of the sports sites. SI had them 25th in this past week's issue. I read it and thought, are they talking about the same team I have been checking out. No depth to their analysis at all.

I agree - Vols - big. It will be fun to watch for a change. We have men playing for UT now - not kids. The difference in line play on both sides will be huge over last season. Neal is going to bust a few long runs. DY is going to be Sproles. The WR's are going to make secondaries crazy trying to figure out what to do and who to cover.

Good luck to Greg King and Naz Oliver for sticking with the program through injuries and still maintain a positive attitude. I really would like to see them excel and get some meaningful playing time. They both seem to be well spoken and quality young men who were talented coming out of HS.

According to 247 Rajion Neal has broke every strength & conditioning record for a RB in program history except for one (the 225-bench rep, Poole did 27 reps, Neal did 24).

247 didn't have the exact #'s on some but they said they were close:

Squat: 500+
Bench: 400+
Power Clean: 300+
Vert: 42"
Broad Jump: 10'6"
20-yd shuttle: 4.01
40: 4.36

FWIW, Devrin Young ran a 4.39 2nd fastest player on the team.

Thanks for the info!

But I thought back in the day I remembered hearing that Jamal Lewis and DT Darwin Walker were competing against each other and could both bench press 560.

Am I misremembering that?

Also, 247 stated those numbers would have made him the 2nd most impressive RB at the NFL combine. His vertical would have been the best; his 40, broad jump, and shuttle all would have been 2nd best. His bench would have been 4th.

Its a good feeling knowing we gave Graham an absolute beast to mold into a great running back. What impressive numbers.
