Nobody caters to Independents with a VP pick. In fact, short of a tack hammer to the temple, I don't know what anybody can do to reach any voter that has managed to be undecided this long.

Over the last few years, I don't think I've seen anybody execute the party talking lines in lockstep perfection like Ryan.

I'm frankly a little surprised he took, he was already one of the stars where he was at. Either way, I think he'll be doing a lot more press from here to November than you'd normally see out of a VP nom.

2. No, this won't mean the debates are an easy win for the right. Romney will still have things to answer for and, obviously, Obama will too.

3. This election, despite the VP pick, still will not be a landslide for either candidate. To those who continue claiming such, you are all idiots. Romney is still a flip flopping beacon of uninspired manure and Obama is still an incompetent liar.

Basically, this election is a toss up between two sub-par candidates. That is all.

Ryan is very popular among seniors.

And BTW, his budget got about 200 more votes in the house and 30 more votes in the senate than obamas budget did

I like the VP pick but I don't care too much about either party right now. There's a few things that I can agree with on both sides, but I don't know if it's enough for me to get out and vote when the time comes.

Where are you getting this from? It is the exact opposite.

Romney has now tied himself to Ryan's budget. Last thing you want to do in an election year like this when your opponent can retort with only vague proposals.

Ryan will probably cost Romney a legitimate shot at Florida. That would be game over.

I think it's good pick for Romney, if I'm honest. Ryan gives Romney some substance and has a specific plan to pitch, even if the plan isn't the most popular one out there.

I think that's what he wanted to do, if I may play along for a minute. Romney was likely to support a budget that was very similar, if not the same as the Ryan plan. Why not have the guy who came up with the budget on the ticket to defend it? Plus, as I've said earlier, it gives the Romney ticket something the base can sink their teeth into.
