Amerson and the NC St. secondary

MY opinion here.
Int's are a joke.
50% or more are being in the right place at the right time.
The great ones do not get thrown at alot.
Lastly I would take E.B. with his (was it one Int. his junior year) > over Amersons 13 anyday. GBO

Amerson is great but not State's only DB. Safety Earl Wolff (love his last name) is preseason all conference and the entire secondary is made up of Seniors and one Junior. That one Junior is Amerson.

Also, State led the nation in INTs and was second in turnovers forced.

It should be great fun to watch the 1s battle, Amerson (#1) vs. Hunter (#11).

I always get a chuckle when I see these types of game by game breakdowns and discounting of accomplishments. By this thought process Chris Johnson should be terrible because he played Conference USA opponents all the time.

Three weeks from tomorrow, Vol fans. :)[/QUOTE

NCState is a mid ACC school. Keep telling yourself that your secondary is that good. 27ints looks great on paper. Look more at that paper it looks above average. Your rush defense was average and will be bad this year, pass defense was just above average overall. 24 fumbles! I hope your tears taste salty on the 31st cause the big boy football of the SEC is going to destroy your pathetic team. :moon2:

I believe Watkins didn't play vs. them.

Yup. Sammy Watkins didn't play, likely a big reason Clemson lost. That and the fact they had the ACC already wrapped up and their coaching staff didn't keep them focused on the NCSU game, they were looking ahead to USCjr.

I don't agree with your opinion. A lot of "being in the right place the right time" is a matter of the DB or LB putting themselves in a position to make the play (such as reading the QB).

You do not have 13 ints. fall into your lap. He is obviously a greaty athlete, but like so many others have said, we have a lot of options in the passing dept. On another note, what pay site is the best, for those of you that have seen both VQ and 247? Thanks, I'll hang up and listen.

I've heard they're concerned with their front 7 too. I'd be just as happy running the ball down their throats every play. Hopefully, we'll be able to.

Can't we just accept that Amerson is a beast and the secondary is talented and experienced? Doesn't mean they can shut us down or even slow us down. Should be a fun matchup

I am not saying he is not good, because he is a good ball player.

Most interception are poorly thrown balls, wrong routes & tipped passes.

This is my opinion. Just look at how many great d-backs have just a few interceptions, does this mean they are bad or not being thrown at.

I hope Amerson lives up to the hype. This only make us look better after we beat them.

It really won't matter because we'll be running the ball all night. We won't unleash TTHM until week three.

Will he have an effect on how Chaney schemes the game? Probably, because he's one of the best in the country.

That's the beauty about having two WRs like Hunter and Da'Rick, Amerson isn't going to see too many balls thrown his way.

Patterson lives up to the hype, it's just another weapon one man can't cover.

Amerson will have plenty of balls thrown his way just like he did vs. Wake, FSU, Cincy, etc... where their WRs beat him. He's great in zone, but he is overrated as this shut down corner label that NCSU fans give him.

Nah, get a matchup with him and Da'rick and then let Da'rick drag his azz for 10-15 yards like he did the self proclaimed "best defensive player" in the country.
