'13 VA RB Derrick Green (Michigan commit)

Have to be impressed with what Coach Jay Graham has been doing with RB recruiting.

Making Green's Top-6 is a good sign. With that being said, I don't see Green signing with UT.

I think UT has a better shot with several other RB prospects. I'm confident in Jay landing a solid RB though.

I disagree. I think this is our guy.

Interesting first post.....

Welcome to VN!

....btw, I accidently hit like, nobody here would like that I hope.

Watch it! there is some Vol fans that will turn on you if you disagree with his fact filled first post.

"Just coach (Jay) Graham," Green said. "The atmosphere is really good and the fans as well. It's a place I could go and produce early. Coach Graham is someone that I've known for a couple of years when he was recruiting me at South Carolina. He's a down to earth guy and he will tell you how it is and he's honest."

"Academics are big for me," Green said. "I just know that you go further in life with a degree. Football isn't going to last forever and you need something to fall back on afterwards. I also want to have a good relationship with the coaching staff and early playing time is important to me."

Then come to Knox-Vegas and get both!

Michigan or AU

Michigans class is filling up quick, but you make room for this guy. I don't know where you're getting AU, link plz. We are in a closer proximity to his home, great academics, early playing time (possibly starting), great relationship with our RB coach, and not in that sh**hole of a state known as Alabama.

Sorry, but I disagree with you. I think this guy will "like" us till the end, but wont sign to play for us. (ps I also want this guy in orange)

VT... All day. Nothing to see here.

I would give Tech the edge now, but it also depends on how their season plays out. Recruits react well to positivity surrounding a program. If we have an impact season, he looks hard at us. I honestly think it will be a VA school or Michigan. I like what CBH is doing up there, and DGreen does too.

I am a gypsy, I can predict the future...vol.

Honestly, I dont know but I like seeing people get spun up. Y'all are entertaining.

hahah i think he is going somewhere else. but id love to have him. at this point we are in on 3 elite backs, we just need one, can't wait till the season starts.

@BrOoKyLn_boii27: Just received my first written offer in the mail from Tennessee . Go Vols

Green's twitter.

He posted the same thing to his fb account. Seems like a good sign. He hasn't really tipped his hand like this much. GBO!

No offense but where are you not getting Auburn? He's been here several times. He brought his mom with him just a few of weeks ago.

Some of you are completely illogical when following recruiting and I'm guessing it's the same group that freaks out about when a kid goes somewhere else.

 ..so you're questioning ME questioning SOMEONE else about the same thing? You basically gave the same argument that I did when the other poster said "MU or AU." Do your research before you call me out on something lol. Your second paragraph does not describe me in any form or fashion.

VoP where is auburn coming up with this sick class? Obviously they are only 2 years removed from the National title, but if this year goes bad do you think there current class sticks? My 1st cousin works for barn and feels good about Green and they already have 3 of the top 10 players currently commited in the country.

AU seems to think they have a legit shot and apparantly enough to make it public that G Bryant canceled his visit to AU this weekend. Michigan looks like the team to beat and rumor was he almost committed at their Big House BBQ event last weekend. FWIW

all of these things I've mentioned. MI will be hard to beat. AU will not be a player in a few months. IMO a 3 way battle between MI/VT/UT.

Green complimented the academic support at Tennessee. He also sees how the Vols need a top tailback. That has been a glaring omission in Tennessee's recruiting for years.

“Definitely,” Green said when asked if that would be a factor. “I definetely looked at the depth chart.” -ESPN
