'15 JUCO RB Alvin Kamara (UT commit 6/21/14)

It actually does not mean anything for UA. Neither have commited to UA and both could end up elsewhere. I just like because a few seem to think she was hinting at something.

i think most of the Booms were for her comments about Dooley and his personal interaction with her and other recruits/families. It hasn't been easy the past few years being a Vol and having an unproven coach.

I think the boom needs to be a little more sacred, no offense. Thought he committed with all the fireworks.

I supported CDD when he got hired and thought he would bring back one of the most important things that a program of long tradition must maintain and that is character. Top rated recruiting classes and getting a school in the press even if negative may be good in the short term but UT is a program with a long tradition. CDD has brought a positive image to Knoxville. A program like the way he is building it goes a long way in the minds of families and the recruits.

Saban very seldom will have much to say about another program or their coach, but at SEC media days he gave praise to Dooley and the job he has done at UT.

Well said, TW! I agree with you whole-heartedly on this one. :hi: And I am not one of the ones that thought MzT was hinting at something with her comments. I know for a fact that you will not get one ounce of info out of MzT as to where the kid may end up. It's always the kid's moment for that info.

CDD could still be with Saban if he didn't mind remaining as an assistant. He wanted to be a head coach and moved on. Saban has been a good friend to CDD with support
like that. I agree that Saban doesn't compliment freely which makes his words carry more weight. To me anyway.

MzT, all that I got to say is BOOM!! Very well said and thanks for clarifying a few things. I love to hear how DD treats the guys. I REALLY hope we win big this year and that he leads our program for a long, long time. He's a class act to have at the head of our program. Sad to hear that our chances are slim to none to land both AK and DH.

We'll be okay.... either way. Dooley's staff know what they're doing and what kind of player they're looking for. UT will be alright!

You got that right buddy!!:eek:k::thumbsup:

Why for the visits would only be speculation for the most part. Except just to check out the programs one more time. QUOTE]

TW, where in any of my posts did I say that Kamara was a UT lean? Where did I say that MzT was pushing him to UT? NOWHERE!! All I said was that MzT stated in this thread (I believe...and I don't have time to go find it) that she gave AK a task of one or a few questions to ask of each school/coaching staff that he is considering...I believe MzT's words were "once that task is complete, AK will be cleared to make his announcement." Something along that line. I said that this is why he is making one last visit to UA and UGA, because although UA seems to be on the outside, he is STILL considering them as his destination and wants to do this task he was given with that school/staff as well. I don't have to defend MzT, as I am sure that she will get on here and defend herself. I know that she IS NOT pushing AK anywhere...just as her son did, he will make his OWN decision, wherever that may be. Fortunately, for MzT her son chose the school that she is in love with...may not be the same thing that happens for AK, her "other" son. She has explicitly stated that she lets the kid that make the decision, not her. I have no idea where you are drawing these speculations from that I have said anything otherwise.

Good debate guys and both of you are absolutely right. I am not and will not EVER push AK or any other kid in any direction, although I am a diehard UT fan and mom. This decision is life changing; be it right, wrong or indifferent. Whatever and wherever Ak or Henry chooses they have to feel good at the moment and have no regrets or remorse. I think it would be the BOMB if UT got both of these guys, but the likely-hood of that happening is slim to none. :cray:

I did give AK specific instructions. It looks like he's taking my advise. There are specific questions that need to be asked and matters layed on the table; and it indirectly has NOTHING to do with the football program specifically. Actually, coaches shouldn't even be involved in the tasks I put on AK.

I do believe AK has some serious things to think about over the next few weeks, and I do believe he should visit each school again at least twice... once by a drop in visit and the other on a game day. Drop in and just to be seen. Catch folks in their rare form; for who they really are and not their game face. Dont tell me its a homelike atmosphere and I pop up unexpectedly and can't sit in your office. lol I did Dooley like that.... and I'll say it a million times!! I LOVE MY DOOLEY i popped up on him, and my family was shown so much love it was shocking. it wasn't the staff it was me Dooley and TJ and Baggett and Hinshaw.... then some of the other coaches came out because they wanted to meet MZTERRY. I will never forget that; and I think feeling was the deal closer for us, and a year later its still the same. Same faces who came to my house, and even better relationship nowand they have my baby.

Recruiting will be over soon and coaches will begin looking at 2014 & 2015 classes. Who's gonna be the same person 3 years from now as they are today on recruiting day? For US it was UT / Dooley.... he's the same ALL the time. I don't have to make an appointment to see him. When he knows I'm on campus, hell he'll come find me. What's better than that???? NOTHING! I ain't that important, and it's not just me who feels this way about DOOLEY... Every parent I've ever had this conversation with feels the same way.

I said all that to say this. Just being the media whores that the two other mentioned schools coaches are; do you think they give a damn about the kids as people and not just players? I don't want my son to just be #18 6'5 232lbs wideout that's only good to you and for you in practice and on game day. I don't want you leaving my son with his position coach and he doens't know who you are as person and you don't know him. Every time you walk in, a secratary has to hand you a player profile sheet. Do you know how many times I've seen that mess? lol :birgits_giggle:COUNTLESS!! CDD knows his recruits and treats them like the young men they are. It's up to AK and Henry and what their desires are; whether they fall for the beautiful golf course in hell, or the rainy clouds of joy in heaven.

This may be the best thing I've ever read on this website!!!

Which is why I like what she posted. This whole time she has posted the truth and nothing more. And also went in line with what I said. It is nice for kids that get taken advantage of way to many times to have a parent that gets involved like MzTerry, especially someone that has been through out with another recruit already.:good!:

TW--

Apparently I misunderstood or read too much into something that I had read earlier about Kamara and Henry having established a friendship and had discussed playing together. I apologize -- mea culpa. As always, MZTERRY brings some serious reality to the boards -- UT needs to name her "parental recruiting advisor".

I still think we will likely get one or the other of them. Tennessee just has too much to offer an elite RB over and above the other schools that have been mentioned as being in play (mostly UGA and Bama) for both of them to pass on UT.

This is very true, and the good news that we learned today from Skeet is that David Williams really likes TN. That is 5 Rivals Top 250 backs that we are in on (AK, DH, Williams, Folston, Turman)....let's hope that surely we can land one or two of them.

So Saban and Richt are media whores and don't care for their players, or did I not comprehend that sentence?
If you are setting yourself up for a disagreement, I would trust someone who went through the process before some wannabe "insider". No offense. I'm sure most would agree too.

well everyone knows Saban hates the media, so that cant possibly be what she meant regarding him. Only the players that went to Bama and UGA can answer the caring question, anything else is just an opinion

I thought she was talking about the recruits? Like having to have a profile sheet when they get there.

nah she said "Just being the media whores that the two other mentioned schools coaches are; do you think they give a damn about the kids as people and not just players?"

so yeah that was directed toward Saban and Richt.

That was beautiful. Anyone else doubt we got the right man for the job? I think this season will be nicknamed "The Vindication of Dooley"

Is sort of funny because Saban might be the only coach I know that does not allow media in spring practice, summer workouts, fall camp, or high school camps. All summer you get reports from sites how recruits are doing at camp because the recruiting guys are there. At UA they have to wait outside the gate and beg for info. The only time Saban has let them in was ESPN and I heard they paid big to get that preseason film aired.
