I am familiar with the litany of links to verses taken out of context or cherry picked in order to justify bigotry that I am sure to be provided with, yes. I am sure you have a copy of the Qu'ran handy right now though and have studied it thoroughly, just like every other expert on Islam in this forum.

Does something that raises a concern have to be deemed illegal before it is appropriate to ask questions? Besides, since we are so concerned with legality, is it illegal to ask questions and push for answers as members of a community? And to say that it is "because they are muslim" is an extreme oversimplification of the motives behind such inquiries. It is like somebody accusing me of being a racist if I lock the doors of my car while driving down Magnolia. I think such an action would be justified based on the history of violent crime in that area, not because I am afraid of black people.

I get what you're saying that Christian terrorism doesn't seem to be as big a problem in this country or around the world for that matter (although there are things like Serbian nationalism in the 90s which was closely allied to Serbian Christianity, or even the Norway shooter, Anders Breivik); however, Christians pointing to the Koran for the "Aha...gotcha" moment is a bit off base. I've read a few books in my time, and still, the Bible is one of the most violent (if not the most violent) books I've ever read, many of those acts of violence justified by God, at least the authors claim.

Anyhow, I don't want to divert this thread into a discussion on the Bible vs. the Koran.

I guess I'll weigh in here by presenting several questions:

1) Generally, is a nation "stronger" with a diversity of cultures or "weaker" with a diversity of cultures?

2) How important are "inalienable rights" (life, liberty, pursuit of happiness) compared to rights set forth in the Bill of Rights - such as freedom of speech and religion?

3) At what point must the rights of one group be subordinate to the rights of another group?

Go at it.

You could have a point. But when large swaths of a religion condone said actions, then that is the religion on display.i would think there are entire countries or large cultures that follow religious doctrine rather strictly. That is not an action of one. That is the religion.

I would argue that it is more of a social-economic basis which inevitably leads to political unification. Religion is a way to justify their actions on a metaphysical scale.

Did it come out that he did this mass murder in the name of Christ? And did the leaders in the Christian community stay silent while this man murdered in the name of Christ?
