'13 GA RB Tyren Jones

Thought this was interesting it says on rivals that he is listed as a soft verbal and we are in his list of considerations someone on the inside (oci, tw skeet) elaborate thanks...

Tyren Jones - Yahoo! Sports

:loco:

Rivals list anybody that is taking visits as a soft verbal, but everything points to him being solid to Bama. If anybody can somehow win him over though it would be Georgia.

Because they need more running backs...

Exactly this on the Rivals part and taking visits. Now if Henry commits to UA at some point UGA fans will swear Jones to them even though he debunked that himself in May when Henry was decommiting and UGA fans started up with Jones would flip. But anything is possible.

People keep saying this, but who does UGA have that is proven? There two leading rushers from last season are gone in Isaih Crowell (dismissed) and Carlton Thomas (has announced his intention to transfer, not sure if he has yet though). Then they have a couple of freshman that look like they should be good, but haven't played a down in the SEC yet.

Yeah, I agree with the Georgia thing being unlikely. However, I never feel confident with an out of state recruit that the instate school wants until NSD

Ok ok. They have some very talented, young backs. If they pan out like everyone expects them to, they shouldn't need a guy like Jones.

Us, on the other hand, need that big time guy. We don't have one on the roster right now. I like lane, and if he is healthy he can be very good, but we really need that elite guy.

You always need a kid like Jones no matter how many backs you have. And UGA isn't that deep at RB. Crowell was the one in that backfield. He gave them a little wiggle room. Oh well time to bust them up this fall.

TW about to come here and talk about how Bama is the best and no running back will leave because we are too good. :hi:

Just reading around on VQ. Lots of speculation and what not, but the main thinking (coming from these guys and some UGA guys) is a Kamara commit to Bama would lead to a Tyren Jones decommit from Bama.

Jay Graham has done a lot of work behind the scenes on Tyren Jones, and that could be a UT/UGA battle leading up to NSD if Kamara does indeed choose Bama.

I would be fine with getting him.
