13 MD WR Paul Harris (UT commit 7/17/12)

My guess is Kiffin will be at USC for a while and continue to get great recruits and win big. He's a great coach but just an a##hole for what he did to us.

Never did I doubted his abilities as a coach. In fact, I believe he is one of the best OCs in the game. Brilliant. However, Lane has ALWAYS wanted to coach in the NFL. Make no bones about it. His tenure at USC will only last as long as the opportunity to jump back doesn't come along. Trust.

My point was that ATP he is not looking to build a sustainable model. Thus far 9 of his 27 commits/signees thus far play play within the trenches. With limited numbers in the outyears recruiting like this is not smart no matter how much smoke he blows. As a coach/salesman I love his abilities but I wish parents and those with intellect could see thru the fecal matter.

USC is getting a real numbers crunch. USC has 14 or 15 available scholarships. USC may be able to sign a few more if players leave, which is likely to happen. I think they'll take in the 17 to 18 range, which would get them to the 75 scholarship limit. Below is who they currently have committed:

QB - Browne
RB - Isaac
RB - Davis
WR - Mitchell
WR - Larue
WR - Massington
DT - Bigelow
DE - Fitts
LB - Hutchings
DB - Cravens
DB - Hawkins

Below is the best I could come up with regarding some of USC's top remaining targets:

WR - Paul Harris
OT - Nicol Falah
DT - Montravius Adams
DE - Greg Gilmore
DE - Carl Lawson
DE - Eddie Vanderdoes
DE - Jason Hatcher
DB - Max Redfield
DB - Tahaan Goodman
DB - Jalen Ramsey
DB - Cole Luke
DB - Priest Willis

USC is about to get a commitment from Khaliel Rodgers (OG from Maryland). With Ramsey and Rodgers, that'll put USC at 13 commitments. At most, USC can take 18. I still am unsure whether USC has room for Harris and Hatcher.

Hatcher seems as solid to us as a non-commit can sound. If CDD gets off the hot seat, and I don't think we have to consider whether USC has room for him or not. He's mentioned the pre-vet thing multiple times in interviews, and USC has nothing close to that. I'm new at following recruiting though, so maybe kids say that a lot and aren't as serious as it seems.

As far as Harris goes, with just having 5 more spots and only 3 of the commits being linemen, you'd think the chances are slim that they'd take yet another receiver.

Hatcher will likely be our 18th commit if he wants to come. Either that or Joe Mathis. Now Sebastian Larue is looking around, which may mean we want Paul Harris instead. Tough to follow along with this.

Where's Larue looking? Is Harris your next best WR recruit?

Hatcher has mentioned more than few times about playing closer to home. Would surprise me if he commits to SC.

If there's one position where Kiffin seems to miss, it's WR. Sure he recruits some stars but he also has his fair share of busts. Prater, Ambles, James Green & Milton are just a few examples.

Nonetheless, I like Harris's athletic ability.

Larue is just start to look in general. Not really sure where.

Harris is probably our top WR if Larue is out. Although Laquon Treadwell is up there too - but he's probably all Michigan.

Who do you think will fill the last 5 spots of your class (assuming Rodgers and Ramsey commit and Larue stays committed)?

If I had to guess? I'm going to do the final 7 btw, easier for me to picture it in this way.

12 - CB Jalen Ramey
13 - RG Khaliel Rodgers
14 - OT Nico Falah
15 - DT Eddie Vanderdoes
16 - FS Max Redfield
17 - CB Priest Willis
18 - DE Jason Hatcher or Joe Mathis

Then, if Sebastian Larue leaves the class, add Paul Harris at WR.

If we get a 19th spot, we may take 4 WRs and add Paul Harris anyway. We might have Robert Woods and Marquis Lee leave early.

Redfield, Willis, and Ramsey?

That scenario would be fine with me. Take Mathis instead of Hatcher at spot 18.

That would leave UT in good position for Harris, Hatcher, and Goodman.

We're looking at taking at least 5 (maybe 6) DBs in this class:

Su'a Cravens
Chris Hawkins
Max Redfield
Priest Willis
Jalen Ramsey
... and maybe Tahaan Goodman, but he may lose his spot.

Kiffin definitely recruits at a high level. Me personally im not mad or do i hate him. Cant blame him for bolting to his dream school. I will pull for SC to win it all depending on who/if there is a SEC team involved. More than likely LSU. Could definitely see a USC/LSU championship game. That would be fun to watch.

Sorry if old news - did not have time to check previous pages. Looks like definite UT/USC final two. From ESPN July 9th article:

After returning home Monday from a memorable trip to The Opening, three-star receiver Paul Harris (Upper Marlboro, Md./Frederick Douglass)
now shifts his focus to the final stage of his recruitment.

The 6-foot-3, 190-pound athlete has narrowed his list to USC and Tennessee, and expects to make his college choice sometime this month,
though a specific date has not been set. Harris said he will sit down with his parents in the coming days and weigh his options.

"I spoke to Coach [Lane] Kiffin when I got home today," Harris said. "We were catching up and recapping the weekend. It was a normal conversation."

Congrats. I guess you're finished with OL recruiting this cycle?

Yep, no more OL this class. I thought we might only take 1, which is always bad. THankfully we finally decided to offer Rodgers.

Now hopefully Christian Morris signs with you guys. I've been hearing that his interest in UCLA is somewhat legit, and I don't want him in our conference, lol.
