'13 FL RB Derrick Henry (Bama commit)

,

It can't hurt that he hasn't committed to Bama yet. Most thought he would've by now. ,,,,,,,,,,

He is being smart and looking at all his options. I never understood why a recruit would not take all their OVs.

Clemson and Oregon are also mentioned after the other 4 in the ESPN article today. But it seems his top 3 are UA, UT, and UGA in that order, but that is me reading between the lines.

it is nice that several of the top prospects have TN in their final list. It has been a while.
Dooley & Co are doing a good job recruiting.

I think you're right. It's UA #1 with UT and UGA tied at #2.

Anything can happen on visits. This should be interesting.

I actually believe UT is #2 at this point and UA may lead but if UA was that far out ahead he would go ahead and commit. I think it may be closer than some think. JMO

he will not go public until he gets the ok to, kid is just playing the game at this point.

He told Niebuhr he would decide in December.

The longer that he waits to decide, then the better it is for UT. A great season could really sway him our way, as it could a few of the elite prospects that we are in on.

He retweets a lot of UT fans who tweet at him, and he does the same for Bama. I haven't seen any retweets from Georgia fans. I still think we are really in this. I think it will be close till the end. He will also be at The Opening in Oregon.

You rationalize things very well. That's why we love you, even though you're a Tennessean rooting for Bama= Benedict Arnold.

When it comes to recruiting, it is hard to overstate the importance of how Tennessee does on the field this year. A strong season where we play well will almost completely eliminate the "Dooley on the hotseat" negative recruiting that has been used so effectively by our rivals this year to keep elite recruits from committing early to the Vols.

The top tier kids we are recruiting will be closely watching not only the W/L totals, but also to see other things like whether or not we are playing aggressive football, whether we are getting better (especially on defense) as the season unfolds?? How well do we adjust our game plan when things are not going our way?? Do we appear to be well coached and well prepared when we hit the field?? Is our running game emerging and improving as the season progresses??

To the extent that we appear to be answering these questions positively, we could end up with a monster class this year. But if for whatever reason the wheels fall off again this year, it will seriously harm recruiting far more than previous years under Dooley.

I predict that he goes public with his choice in 2 to 3 weeks. JMO.

the staff was waiting to see what Kamara was going to do so now that they have gotten the word, Henry could possibly go public sooner than later since his commitment wont have any impact on Kamara now.

What happened with Kamara? Did I miss something?

Oh, and here is another thought. People have talked about how these running backs don't want to have to be the work horse rb's anymore and I can understand that. Why shorten your longevity in football if you don't have to.

My question about this is...... Why not at Tennessee? Maybe, just maybe, these guys are starting to look at options like this. Theorhetically....With the backs we have now.....add Kamara and Henry. Chance to be on a team and show the world what you have early and still not have to be the workhorse for three or four years.

It's a thought.

Like I said weeks ago. Henry is Bama bound and is just waiting on instructions from their staff. JMO but he probably goes public in 2 weeks, 3 weeks at the most.

u dont have to tell me, Henry committed to Bama before he publicly decommitted to UGA. Bama was trying to find a way to get both. Crowell arrest sped up the process.
