Somewhat true, those are the typical replies from Dooley slurps, pictures.
Of course I will change my tune. Be great if he proves me wrong, as of this point in his career there is nothing that says he will though.
Lol. More excuses.
Nah, I would blame the coach. Try again.
That wouldn't really indicate to me that good times are ahead, to be honest.
I think 9-3 should be the minimum requirement.
9-3 would obviously be an improvement over 5-7, but it certainly wouldn't convince me that Dooley is a championship level coach, which is ultimately what we need.I'm not sure these are mutually exclusive, as you seem to imply. I think the minimal requirement and the record showing progress and good times ahead are the same. If 2012 gives us no reason to believe good times are ahead, it's time for a change.
So while I can't argue too much that 9-3 is the minimum requirement (although 8-4 might work if it includes a win over Florida, Georgia, or Alabama), I do think it'd be a huge breath of fresh air and sign that better things are on the horizon. Finally.

It would certainly be more encouraging than what we've seen, but let's not forget that it would still fall short of what Mike Shula was able to pull off in year 3.It'd convince me that he can at least build the roster and keep us competitive to making it to Atlanta, which counts as good times to me. National titles are great times. And if Dooley can show us good times are coming by year three, I'll give him more time for great ones.

I don't think the schedule this year is any harder than Alabama's schedule in 2005.I haven't, but I do think it's a different conference than it was when Shula was around. That and I feel a little better about Dooley's roster-building

I understand saying that 9-3 would buy him more time, but he better use that time to show that 9-3 is just the start and not the ceiling.
I agree, but I think 9-3 would be par for the course. Tennessee is better than a minimum of 8 teams on the schedule, and that isn't addressing the fact that neither Florida or South Carolina is going to be special.Yeah, forgot that Auburn was still good and that Florida finished so high in a rebuilding year.
And agreed. Obviously, if he goes 9-3 and tanks in 2013, that's bad. But as much as the offense is built for 2012, the D is built for 2013. I think a good season this year is a pretty good sign going forward. But you always have to keep building.
I don't personally know anyone that attended UT and rehashes and bashes as much as those that are UT fans, but didn't attend the school. Of course we have questions and concerns, but concerns are different than what many on here spew.
