The Runner's thread

:eek:lol: No, just had some pent up frustration from work and some other issues... felt much better after this. I wasn't even shooting for a good pace. I was just shooting for a good run to clear my head.

I seem to run better when I'm pissed off or stressed out too

Did 4 today but it was hot so I was exhausted. I think I need to start running early in the morning or at dusk

I ran about a mile tonight to warm up, and then did 6 sprints of about 1/8th mile uphill. Sprint uphill, walk back down. Repeat. Then jogged the mile back home. That freaking crushed me. I have about a month to train for my next fit test and try to reach my goal of a sub-nine minute mile and a half.

Not sure I have enough time to make it, but I'm going to give it a shot. Need to cut about 30 seconds off last year's time.

Fallen Heroes Memorial 5K this Saturday. The 2 year anniversary of my PL getting killed in Iraq. Looking at the finishing times from the last course years, if I push myself I might be able to place

Good luck and it's a great reason to race. Always nice to do something to rememberance of a fallen friend! :hi:

After a day off yesterday and two bad runs before that, I put out a 31:19 4 mile effort today. Felt really good to get back to what I thought I was capable of.

That's a great pace for a longer run like that. I have always found after some bad runs if I take a day off and then get back to it, my runs will be better.

I did some sprint drills Wednesday, but today was my first real run since running the Raleigh Rocks half Sunday. 5 miles, 42 minutes. It was rough and I just had nothing after the first two miles.

Anybody know where I could find some good 5K races around the Knoxville area?

Haven't ran one in about 2 years. Would love to know what I could do now.

Got out for 3 on Wednesday, and went 3.5 today. I'm gonna try to get my weekday runs up to 4 miles in the next couple of weeks.
