Peyton Manning to ____? (merged)

born and bred niners fan.

I think it'd be tough not to go to sf, especially b/c Peyton would be another hall of fame quarterback to put on the red and gold and bring the lombardi trophy back to sf.

I think it would be tough to not go to Tennessee. Familiarity with the Division, better offense, more money (especially) with the added benefit of a role with the team after retirement, plus maybe one day being a part owner, etc. Sure if he was basing his decision primarily on where he could win right away it would be SF, but I dont think he is. Daddy, and his wife want him in Tennessee as well.

I could be happy with him being a 49'r.....if there hadn't been the possibility he would be in Tennessee.

Just raided the 49ers forums, they seem to be a mirror image of us. Some hopeful, some confident, some totally convinced he signs with the Titans. I just want this to be over. It's starting to feel like he's hanging out here to enjoy the love of Tennessee one last time, because you just know some idiots are actually going to turn on him if he signs somewhere else.

The reality is he's probably one of a handful of nfl players who could take his sweet making a decision because there will always be at least 1 or several teams willing to wait on him or drop something/anything/what they're doing to sign him. And that just seems to be what's going on here...he's just going at his own gradual pace, not trying to be hurried or pressured into any decision before he's really sure.

I'm a bit critical of the titans here, though, in that rather than taking care of their needs simultaneously, they seem to just have focus on Manning and things relative to wooing him...

The depth you idiots will go to defend "insiders" is amazing.

Ha, that is funny you are calling me an idiot when you are the one that is too stupid to realize that somebody did not say what you are saying that they said. Find me where skeeter ever said Shannon was coming here? Here is a tip, don waste your time looking, because you will never find it since he never said it.

Me too. But if this team is gonna make a run this year or next, we better address that defense now.

It for sure needs to be, im sure that's the route they will go in the draft. They have been held hostage waiting on Mannings choice. Cest la vie, the dominoes will fall in place soon. Titans do have a decent DE visiting them soon. That's atleast a start.

I don't think he can go wrong with either decision. the proposed offer that bud Adams put together would be reeeeallly hard to turn down.

I heard a guy on the radio saying that when Peyton went to Indy, a substantial number of east tennesseans became colts fans even though the titans were already in Tennessee. the guy pointed out that Peyton going to the titans could convert those colts fans to titans fans and, ultimately, make the titans "tennessee's team." if you're Peyton, you could go down as the most influential sports figure in Tennessee history. now THAT would be hard to turn down

Can you provide some posts from skeeter predictions that have actually panned out? I'm not talking about his generally right recruiting predictions. With the exception of people like Dawson and Peters of course. I'm talking about what he says concerning the athletic department i.e. the defensive coordinator search. If that whole fiasco didn't prove to you that there are no real "insiders" on this board I don't know what will.

I feel like they are incapable of multi tasking sometimes. I really don't like Jason Jones not being re signed.

They signed Hutchinson and went after Wells and Meyers at the same time. I don't think they would have re-signed Jones with or without the Peyton saga.

I'm not going to waste my time going through his posts for an idiot like yourself. However, the first thing I came across was this which broke way before anyone else broke it.

Skeeter missed a lot this past recruiting season. I'm not saying he's wrong with this, but I do think he's just guessing like everybody else.

I'm not saying that he actually knows something or that he is guessing, I'm just calling out the idiot for saying that he said things that he clearly did not.

When it comes to Titans and NFL business, I can name hundreds of people whom I trust more than Skeeter for information.
