Peyton Manning to ____? (merged)

I can't hate any team with Tennessee in the name, no matter where they were originally from. If Houston wanted to keep them they had a chance and failed. Their loss is our gain. Now Tennessee didn't have a NFL team and if you were a lifelong fan of some other team that's fine. I just don't get all the hate thrown the titans way becasue they came from somewhere else. Don't understand the Butthurt on that one.

You would be one of those fans that the anaheim angels changed their names to the anaheim angels of los Angeles LOL......I'm not butthurt I just hate the titans.

Ah, it makes sense now. You must be from Memphis. I have news for you. The Titans NEVER planned on staying in Memphis. I don't know why Memphians seems to believe otherwise.

I'm surprised Memphis still actually plays in the Liberty Bowl... that place is a dump.

Yeah, we know... you've been talking about it all morning.

This.

For some reason he thinks it's very rare for pro teams to ask for help from taxpayers to build a stadium. Luckily most taxpayers with a brain realized the economic advantages to having a professional team in the state.

I can't speak to the Titans because I don't know the specifics. I think LP was there before. But in most cases, economic impact studies and scholarly research has indicated that the public cost of building a new stadium heavily outweighs the economic benefits. In general, it's a huge rip to the tax payer.

It's the opposite for me(born in TN and have spent most of my life in bama) but I hate all things Crimson. Maybe it's because I have to listen to all these Bama punks for the entire year when we lose.

When I got out of school, I moved to S. Florida. Talk about a load of crap. Having to listen to the Gators mouth off all the time in the 90's was bad. Don't know how they got this "tradition" they keep talking about. 15 to 20 years does not a school tradition make in my books. Only pulled for them down there because I can't stand Miami and FL St. They are a team that you love to hate....

LP was not there before. The stadium was built for $291 million. 71% was taxpayer funded.

I don't know Nashville's balance sheet, but they're building a convention center that is more than double the price of LP. That doesn't mean that the city is flush with money, but it is an indicator of economic health, or at least the forecast of economic health for the city. I think it's safe to say that the Titans relocation to Nashville has paid off. The city is a much more vibrant place now than it was than before the Titans relocation.

I'm trying to track down some economic impact reports. Will share if I can get them.

You think wrong.

This.

As much as I like the Titans and I'm glad they're here, the stadium deal we got is a joke.

The economic benefits angle is highly overplayed when it comes to pro sports.

Huh. I didn't know that.

The entire reason the Titans played in Memphis, and then in Vanderbilt's stadium, as discussed earlier, is because they were waiting on the construction of LP Field.

@3HL1045 RT @PeterBurnsRadio: Buckle up folks. Appears that #Broncos plane is en route to Raleigh where Peyton Manning is at. cc: @3HL1045 #Titans

The Titans are anything but a burden to the city of Nashville.
Haters are gonna hate. You can't reason with them. They got their own fabricated stats and all. So, don't even try. It's just like the 9/11 Conspiracy nut-jobs. They pull chit out of thin air and talk like they KNOW what they are talking about. They don't. But hey...like giving a chewy bone to a dog, it gives them something to do. :loco:

They were willing to build a new stadium just not the deal bud wanted ........I don't care if anyone cheers for the titans but I will never cheer for them.

No one really said you have to though....the disagreements are from the fact that you said they're not a real Tennessee team....even though they're called the TENNESSEE Titans....proof is in the pudding broham
