Peyton Manning to ____? (merged)

Ah, okay. No hard feelings then. The Steelers are much more a Tennessee team than the Tennessee Titans.

#bandwagon

I am no bandwagon fan all my allegiances were forged when I was five......worked out well with the steelers......not so much with the 76ers who are my favorite pro basketball team.....

Noone has to accept it but I don't care who u cheer for but I will never cheer for Houston.....Peyton or no peyton......the only time I will ever go see the titans play is to see the steelers spank them up and down the field.
Teams move. That's the NFL. Houston has a team and it's not the Titans. The Rams were from LA. Cardinals moved from St Louis. Baltimore Colts/ Indy Colts. Oakland/LA Raiders. Happens a lot so the argument is weak.

DONE DEAL!

@AdamSchefter More incentive (we think): Shoney's is offering Peyton Manning all the free pancakes he can eat every day if he signs with the Titans.

Yeah but I would cheer for the titans.......even though the name is stupid and the colors are ugly if they were an expansion....not the Houston team that looked around for the sucker that would use tax payer money for a new stadium.

You act like they had a decent stadium but just left for a better one. Do you realize the condition of the Astrodome before the team moved? The field wasn't even safe to play on. The turf had dips and tears in it, guys were rolling ankles playing on that. It's bad when you fear the turf more than the other team's defense.

They are a vulture organization.....they came here bc we were willing to pay the money to build them a new stadium which the owner could not get enough tax money from Houston....if they ever need something else and the Tennessee tax payers are not willing to cover......they will move on to the next city that will......don't get too attatched

I think you could probably say that of any sports team.

You must've missed the Tennessee Tuxedos rumor.

I'm sorry, I just don't get this attitude. The situation you describe is so widespread in professional sports that it has become an expected part of the business.

They were willing to build a new stadium just not the deal bud wanted ........I don't care if anyone cheers for the titans but I will never cheer for them.

Even though that is pretty funny, what's up with all the hate coming from espn about Peyton back to Tennessee? And don't say cause espn hates Tennessee.

Titans is a ton better than the Tennessee Oilers, which made no sense.

And the colors are roughly the same as the Oilers, just navy blue added; unless you thought the Oilers looked stupid.

How can you be a Bama and Vols fan?

That's just wrong.

FINALLY!! Someone noticed. I grew up in Alabama pulling for the Bear. He was our keynote speaker at our new stadium dedication when I was a junior in HS. Won the state championship that year on that field. When you grow up in Bama, you are either Bama, that other school, or insignificant (at least when I was there eons ago). I became a UT fan when I went to school here. Trust me, I love the Vols and pull for them every game they play. However, I will pull for Bama every game that they play except against the Big Orange! That is why I love the rivalry so much believe it or not.

Also, I am one of those UT first, SEC second people too. The only three schools that I will actively pull against every time they play are LSU (anything), Vandy (basketball), and KY Jelly (basketball). Can't stand LSU and can't stand the other two coaches.

So now you know.:clapping:

Get what you pay for.

Yeah, the "they used to be the Oilers" argument is just ridiculous. Teams move all the time, doesnt matter. When they move to your town or state they become your team and represent you. Nobody follows a franchise, do people really think that there are a bunch of fans in Houston following the Titans saying that is "their" team.

It's not that widespread......its about 25% or less of teams but will probably become more prevalent....I watched bud Adams and the oilers when they were in Houston and hated them then.....it doesn't change just bc they decide to rip the Tennessee tax payers out of some money.

Understandable

Strangely....I'm actually buying this explanation.

Are you saying the economic impact of the team's relocation wasn't worth the cost of the stadium?
