Why should I do a search you ***hole?? You're the one bringing it up and saying absolutely 100% he said it so you must have proof lying around somewhere. Link, quote or you're just a POS liar!!
Not to really "defend" VolBeef here, but I do recall that line being thrown out there...can't remember if it was by Dooley, but I think it was.
I don't understand why this is such a difficult isssue for you and others to get. My THINKING DD will fail is not me WANTING DD to fail. There's a HUGE difference. As I've stated numerous times, I'd LOVE to be wrong and come on here and eat crow. But history says I'm right.

History says that you have an inability to understand cause and effect...
I could buy into your historical perspective if DD jumped out in the Florida game, and in a fit of rage tore an ACL or bit Bray's thumb off in the UGA game simply because he could.
I might be able to see your point if DD was the reason behind us being incredibly young, low on talent, and short handed for the past few years.
I might even be able to agree with you if history had ever been a direct indicator on the performance the following season. Using that argument, since 1998 UT would never have lost another national championship because history tends to repeat every year, correct?
That is silly, you say, because there are other factors that might keep something from repeating? Well now you might get the silliness in the idea that "DD will absolutely fail because of history".
I am not saying that DD will absolutely succeed, but improving is much more likely than stagnation or regression giving the differences in circumstances.
Extrapolating correctly from history is a very complex and inexact science. Just being pessimistic because of the end result gives no credence to the underlying causes of that result.
Volbeef has been a long time contributor to this board and is a lot more respected than anyone posting in this thread - he's definitely not a troll even if you guys can't stand him and his feelings about Dooley.
They didn't get hurt. They left the team early when Bruce was fired. You may remember Harris and Hopson?

I didnt hear it said and untill he brought it up, I've never seen it posted here. Just sayin if its a fact, shouldnt be hard for him to prove it. If you've read beefs other post then you understand why I'm not taking his word
Still, your post that was deleted was uncalled for. Glad it was quoted for all to see. Speaks volumes. I don't care if someone disagrees with you or me 100%, One shouldn't stoop to that level. It's a message board about football. Have a little perspective and grow up.
Dont forget it took a over time int. to beat vandy that should have been called back, just to get 5 wins last year, thats were dooley has us atm..the truth hurts..
I dont post things for effect, I post what I think! I could care less if it was deleted. What I said had nothing to do with him disagreeing with me, it had to do with all his BS that he has posted over time. If you think what I posted was that bad, you need to get out more fella. BTW, thanks for letting me know it was deleted, I had no clue. Glad you keep up with the status of my post, enjoy!

If I was the AD at Tennessee and I was informed that I could only keep one, of either Dooley or Martin, I'd take Martin as it is now.
Martin seems to be a young coach on the rise, and if he can recruit, I see him winning big.
Dooley seems like a young coach that might have just been pushed to the big stage, too soon. This isn't a knock on him, but the truth. When you only have 1 winning season out of five in your career, I don't think you should be the head coach at a school as prestigious as Tennessee.
