We may seriously be the most self destructive fan base in the country. GREAT win by the boys last night, and within twelve hours we get two absurd posts. First, we get Nehi's post talking about how much he misses BP, followed by this disaster. Why can't we just enjoy the win and wait til FB season for further judgement on DD?
CCM has done an outstanding job with the talent and situation he was given and I can't wait to see if we can continue finishing strong and make a strong NIT run, but comparing him to CDD is oranges and apples! You can't even begin to compare the two situations, nevermind you are talking about two different sports with the SEC considered top (football) and close to bottom (b-ball) with rosters and variables that are totally different. DUMB THREAD.
If you want to see what a good coach does all you have to do is look at our basketball coach. The team he coaches gets better as the year goes on. Dooley and his worshipers just make excuses.

That last gif was uncalled for, IMO. A great movie, but no place here for that gif. JMO

Unlike Beef, I hope Dooley excels. However, there are some things he can learn from CCM:
1. Discipline wins. If a player steps out of line, discipline him even if he is a star receiver. It will lead to greater success in the long run.
2. Coach up what you've got and get better. My biggest disappointment with Dooley last season was that he acted like he quit midway through the season and started making excuses. He needs to read the maxims: when at first things go against you, put on more steam.
3. Take ownership. Okay, I don't have an example from CCM, but I have one fron Rick Carlisle, coach of the world champion Dallas Mavericks. When a final second play didn't work, he took the blame. Dooley needs to realze the buck stops with him and he is accountable for the results of the program. Stop putting all blame on the players.
I'm hoping Dooley is learning and continues to become a better coach.
I am very impressed with CCM, hope he continues to improve the program, and hope he is here for a long time.
I don't understand why this is such a difficult isssue for you and others to get. My THINKING DD will fail is not me WANTING DD to fail. There's a HUGE difference. As I've stated numerous times, I'd LOVE to be wrong and come on here and eat crow. But history says I'm right.
