No sugar.

Cornmeal, an egg, bacon grease, and butter milk.

An ice cold cup of whole milk and a piece of cornbread covered with butter.

That is the question

I can tell you right now, cornbread is to be eaten without sugar

Sugar is for cookies and cakes

I want my cornbread made with cornmeal, buttermilk and bacon grease

I dont want egg in my cornbread, cause I want it so dry it will choke you to death without a big glass of sweet tea to wash it down

Truth.

Yankee cornbread is an assault upon humanity, and those who produce it should be punished as if they have committed a hate crime.

Well, let's consider for a second where that delicious corn for cornbread comes from. I see several Yankee states, plus Ohio.

I like cornbread either way. I actually prefer it with just a pinch of sugar, not like those Jiffy mixes, those are too sweet, but just a pinch.
And hell no to vinegar in slaw. Mayo is the perfect base. Add some poppy seeds and you're set.

Somebody can correct me if I am wrong, but isn't (wasn't) there a place in Dollywood that served white beans in a bowl made of cornbread?

I could use some cornbread, myself. Gotta go to cracker barrel around here...{sigh}. I guess it's cool. The scones here are to die for.

Have you ever eaten at Mom's in Salina? Scones are very good. Everything else is great.
