'13 GA DT Robert Nkemdiche

The rumor mill in MS suggests that Denzel(Nkemdiche) is unhappy at Ole Miss and looking to get out of Oxford. Had the previous coaching staff remained, he would've transferred at the end of this season. He decided to stick around through the spring to give the new guys a chance, but it still a possible summer transfer.

I know that Robert has already been on(at least one) UOV to Oxford. I believe it was for the BYU game last year, but I could be mistaken there. Either way, he's seen that place.

Don't take any of this as actual suggestions that I honestly believe he may land in Starkville...because I'm not even remotely making those claims. I find the comments of not wanting to play in a 4-3 interesting though. What position is Saban recruiting him for? Jack lb?

RN has stated he wants to play LB and he really likes the idea of playing like Upshaw. Most of time standing up and some with his hand down. I forget which school I just read about, maybe FSU, but they were told if they only recruited him for the DL he would not consider them. That was per RN and his HC. He has the athletic ability and speed to play LB even with his size. People seem to think someone his size can not play LB , but Upshaw is weighing around 270 for the combines and will be drafted as a LB. One of the reasons RN is really high on UA because unlike a few schools he mentioned who are saying they will give him that chance he has seen that UA has LBs like Upshaw.

Remember all the Jack LB for UA is a LB/DE that plays on the line to pass ruch or plays standing up for coverage and run support.ny player over 250 can play it as long as they have the speed.

In regards to Denzel the only issue I have seen is his academics are a major concern. Remember this is a kid that did not qualify until like until early May last year and the only school willing to take a chance was Ole Miss and that was only because he told Ole Miss they were a package deal.

The reason RN visited the BYU is because his HS position coach played at BYU. FWIW.

If the rules allowed it he might as well go straight to the NFL and play dline for the Giants with guys whose last names are nearly impossible to pronounce.

Does he still live with his coach?

Some of the times. But when his father has to stay overnight in Atlanta he stays sometimes with him and more this past season with another family. Mostly due to the fact his coach was getting alot of grief from UGA fans. Now that his father has moved closer it appears he will stay home next fall and some still with his coach now that the family he stayed with son has graduated.

His HC is pretty much running the recruitment since his mother is living in Africa and his father has a hectic schedule.

Not that I think he would drop Bama... but what if Kirby Smart leaves?

This past season, Nkemdiche had 18 sacks and ran for 17 touchdowns, guiding Grayson High to a 15-0 record and Class 5A state championship. On one play on defense, he lifted a blocker with his right arm and tore the jersey off running back Tyren Jones -- another highly regarded prospect -- with his left.

Most of the comparisons I have seen is a croos between Reggie White and Julius Peppers.

How good is Nkemdiche? He is definitely a better prospect than any of the nearly 200 Georgia seniors that signed last week, and was probably better as a sophomore than any kid that signed last year. His high school coach played on Alabama’s 1992 national championship team that was stocked with future NFL stars and says Robert is more talented. Lowndes coach Randy McPherson pretty much summed it up with this scouting report: “Once-in-a-generation player.”

Spring practice figures to be a zoo if it’s anything like it has been at the Gwinnett County powerhouse over the last few weeks. Alabama’s Nick Saban, UGA’s Mark Richt, Clemson’s Dabo Swinney and Tennessee’s Derek Dooley, along with too many assistant coaches to mention, have stopped by Grayson to catch of a glimpse of “the boy who would be king.”

Don't forget that he lives with his coach, and that he is running the recruiting process. Roll Tide!
