Another THP Officer shows his true colors

No one is defending the kid, the cops are defending the cop. Started by saying "well if he hadn't ..." and mad that the parents are filing a wrongful death.

I never said anything about defense of either side. But still you quoted me. Which cop is defending the actions of the Trooper?

Here's the first.

Cdywolfe is a cop? I didn't know that. But anyways, saying he doesn't agree with a lawsuit isn't the same as saying the Troopers' actions were ok. I can't buy this as defense.

But I do disagree with cdywolfe, it's not pathetic. It's the families' right.

The difference is that the kid's egregious error might very well have cost other(s) THEIR lives. Dude was already TU by the time the officer made his egregious error. Bad judgement on the cops part? You bet, but his faulty decision making had no chance of costing somebody outside of the situation their life.

Another. This time the added detail of an innocent bystander who's life was saved.

Clearly he's not defending the Trooper. He was bashing the dead, which is wrong, but doesn't meet the criteria set forth. Also, this guy is a cop too?

I was unable to quote bamacheats response from my phone.

Again, you apply a small fraction to the whole. LEOs salaries have been increasing. When I started at OSU it was at 51000, OHP, roughly the same. VSP, it is initially lower but after training and escalators it will be close to those numbers.

The national median average salary for a patrol officer is 49875. Breaking the bank, no, enough to live on, of course. Take a study of leos as a whole, not a small county in Tennessee, or Kpd, oh thp.

Furthermore, why the personal attacks and drivel when you respond to posters?

Bamacheats,

Your bigotry has nothing to do with tickets, particuarly your obsession with speeding.

Your bigotry is the personal attacks you apply to leos on this board and leos as a whole. You falsely accuse as it is a matter of fact.

Another example: now the kid was drunk. Still waiting on that.

Facts are not necessary.

BTW...I am not a police officer. Not sure where you got that.

This is my last post. I hate that the kid died from a stupid mistake, its sad. I hate that the trooper was blantantly immoral, but I dont think it was a criminal act. That said he should (and if not mistaken he already has) lose his job. The parents will have a hard time making a wrongful death case unless they can prove that the kid hadnt died on impact.

Sad situation, and I am actually ashamed looking back at this thread. Again pray for the families.

I'm talking about your boy Osbourne, he's as ignorant as your boy punkcat.

Is there a reason that you called me ignorant? Because I dont wholeheartedly agree with your viewpoint? Didnt realize that just because you dont agree with something one way or other makes you ignorant. Never once said you were ignorant, I just thought that one statement you made about pulling the kid from the wreckage was moot, but that is beside the point.

I wasnt defending the troopers actions I was arguing that even IF he had stopped (WHICH HE DEF SHOULD HAVE) the kid had passed, and he would not have been prosecuted.

I lied about the other post being my last, had to respond to being called ignorant...insane maybe since I keep doing the same argument over and over again

I'm not a cop. Never said I was. Never even slightly hinted that I was.

How is trying to sue a government agency for $10 million because you raised an idiot not pathetic?

I agree. It is the families right, but just because you have the right to do something doesn't mean you should.

I don't know why I was quoted twice as "defending the cop" considering I have never once come close to defending the cop. I did say this however...

I have never once, nor will I, attempt to justify what the cop did. He was wrong and got what he deserved. It is actually debatable that he got far less than what he deserved.

Funny how he skipped that one. Also funny how he just made up that I was a cop. Does he ever post anytihng that isn't garbage?

I also don't want to come across like I have a "the kid got what he deserved" mentality, though I fear I have. It's a tragedy and I hate that it happened.

I just feel llike nobody in this country ever wants to take responsibility for their actions. Everything is always somebody else's fault. By the parents suing they are trying to deflect blame (and get paid but that's beside the point) of the death away from where it belongs. That guy died because of actions he made. Not because of anything the cop did. Now the cop followed the death with a series of sociopathic and stupid actions, but lets not kid ourselves. Thats not what killed the driver.

I also can't provide a tox screen form the ME but everything I'm reading on unofficial sources is saying the guy was intoxicated. I cannot confirm this beyond doubt though.

Since opinions are based on personal experience, I plead guilty. I have actually had very few run-ins with police. (about 5 or 6 speeding tickets, 3 wrecks, none I was at fault, a cop pointing a gun at me on a mower, in broad daylight, because a nearby building had an alarm sound, that was a bad one) I have always been polite, even a couple of times when I didn't want to. I've known and know several cops outside of their job. My uncle runs a bonding company in town, he was KPD for several years, I worked for him a while.
I think LE is underpaid. Severely. Disagree?
I think LE is stressful. Disagree?
I thinly LE bear a heavy responsibility. Disagree?
I think LE put their life in harm's way. Disagree?
I think LE are held to a higher standard. Disagree?
I think LE is crucial to a community. Disagree?
I think, after all those factors added up, that LE should command a strong salary and a equally strong candidate.
I think it doesn't because it commands a salary equal to a car salesman. Politicians make it worse by forcing officers to waste time writing tickets of various varieties just for the revenue stream but under the guise of public safety.
I'm sorry you view that as bigotted hatred.

I have a quote on the wall in my study. It's about 4'x8'. It says, "The beginning of wisdom is the recognition of ignorance." I think it was Twain, never been able to confirm, but nonetheless I like it. Makes sense to me. I guarantee, I don't find myself intellectually superior to others. I'm a work in progress like everyone else. Often, intellect is confused with knowledge anyway. That's why I don't view a degree as a sign of intelligence, just a sign of knowledge. I've got 2 and know many people I consider lightyears ahead of me in intellect that have none.

I do acknowledge that there are varying degrees of intellect, and that's my point with LE, the job is too critical for the compensation to be so little. Compensation equals Qualification in most every field.

You disavow any claims of intellectual superiority, yet the very INSTANT someone disagrees with your viewpoint they are labeled "morons".... "idiots".... Ok dude, gotcha. Let me guess that you are a Ron Paul supporter... Think about it, it'll eventually come to you.

Don't be trying to bring any logic or common sense into this!!!

It is now a factual syatement to say that bamacheats stated blatant lies on this board out of frustration. By definition, he is a liar.
