thoughts. 1. Texas A&M is a tough bunch of hombres. Given the crowd and the opponent, their win today is especially impressive. 2. Thad Matta must be ready to pull what little hair he has left out. Greg Oden's postgame comments put a bullseye from the officials squarely on his chest. 3. Today was the end of the road for two of my favorites. If you don't like Drew Nietzal and Jared Dudley, you don't like college basketball. 4. UCLA is going to have to find more offense. You're not going to beat Kansas scoring in the 50s. 5. North Carolina showed me a level of toughness I wasn't sure they possessed. They took Michigan State's best shot without taking a step backwards. 6. Anthony Grant will be coaching in a major conference sooner than later. VCU was as well prepared as any team in the tournament. 7. Pittsburgh is just waiting for someone to beat them. Their offense is abysmal. 8. Vandebilt does deserve credit for taking advantage of an exceptionally soft draw. Now, they get the privilege of getting hammered by Georgetown. 9. Michigan finally came to their senses today. Tommy Amaker has no business being a head coach at the big time level. 10. The charge call on DJ Strawberry was horrid. The official involved should be done for the tournament.

#6- Anthony Grant and VCU did a great job of defeating Duke and coming back and taking Pitt to overtime. I agree that he will soon be coaching in a major conference.

1. I remember back in January, Digger and Dickie V. both said A&M weren't tough enough to go to the final 4. Guess not.

5. I posted after the ACC Championship Game that NC State played perfect and yet the Heels still won. Looks the same way today.

Something along the lines of the refs calling a bunch of "bull crap" and that if he was going to get a foul he was going to make it a hard one.

Not those exact words, but basically said it was his intention to make his last foul a hard one...

After watching today's games, I'd be interested in hearing the committe's justification in sending A&M, a solid 3, into Lexington to play Louisville in round 2, and also Ohio St, a solid 1, to play Xavier 80 miles from their campus. Both higher seeds survived, but it was not fair to either to have to face lower seeded opponents on enemy territory. Those games could have easily been played in New Orleans, Chicago, or Winston-Salem if they didn't want to keep OSU in Colombus.

I'll admit the chant "Darryl,Darryl" the crowd chanted as the young Strawberry attempted his free throws late in the game (however expected and reminiscent of the barrage of "Darryl" his dad use to receive in the big leagues) were uncalled for and somewhat classless IMO (those are by-gone days). Also like to mention NC Hansbrough scoring 33 points, like him or not, plays a big 6'9 ,which happens to match our inside size.
