I think UT is going to pull some real suprise recruits and the class is going to finish inside the top 12 on Rivals.

I also think Peters will end up a Vol.

Unless Dooley is going to start playing dirty with the rest of the SEC we will be some where between 25-20. For those thinking that aint too bad just know thats there with Vandy.

If you still give Dooley credit for being a great recruiter you better rank him number 2 in the state, UT has way more to sell than Vandy.

Better go tell all those recruiting junkies standing on the edge of Gay St bridge ready to jump based on a 17 yr old kid's decision. :loco:

I still believe Peters is a Vol as well. Patterson, Kirven, Davis and holding on to McNeil would be a splash

This is what it takes in today's SEC sadly. Sucks to have kids committed right up to the last weekend then flip. One of the worst things that can happen. Leaves the staff scrambling trying to fill that spot. Kids flip flop all the time but the last minute stuff really hurts, because the backup plan usually isn't there.

i've got an idea...next year we schedule ALL of our OV's on the weekend before NSD. We tell all the recruits about how shi##y there favorite is and reel em in to UT!!! BOOM!! top 5 class. sounds good to me:rock:

That would require us to leave several spots open till then, which would create an epic Volnation meltdown due to the lack of commits

Nah we can just cut the extras that we don't want on NSD. If they can do
It, so can we.

With Santos and probably Peters backing out, this opened up additional spots under the 25 limit. I guaranfreakintee that DD and company were burning up the phone lines yesterday reaching out to those kids that we considered 'on the bubble' - i.e. we want them if we have the space given a pecking order. Mostly 3* guys.

However, look for DD to pick up one... maybe two more 4* recruits today that haven't already verbally committed. Prolly Davis, maybe Patterson, and maybe one surprise.

Vols to finish 13th overall on Rivals.

I wonder how much of the recruits decomitting are a result of negative fans.

How many kids didn't come because so many people want to fire Dooley?

With the internet as powerful as it is today the negative fans are hurting recruiting.

I and smarter people than me have cautioned this very thing. However, in my case it isn't about CDD per se, it's more about the badmouthing of players and former players, not to mention some genuine ugliness regarding Memphis. Many here poo poo the idea that players and recruits lurk this board or are otherwise made aware of the REAL attitudes of people here which manifests itself periodically. They can read the obvious and between the lines. I've said with some things I've seen here if I was a recruit I wouldn't want to come here. It's less what is said than it is the frequency such things are said. But many negative numbskulls will never ever understand that, nor I think care. They're too into themselves and see recruits as little more than trained monkeys to entertain them for a few years then on to another batch. Such fans hurt us more than any opposing coach going after the same recruits.

Said it before, opposing coaches could blow up some of the ugliest stuff from here into poster size, put a big power "T" at the top of each one and pin them up in their offices or along hallway walls and convincing a recruit to not come here sells itself. This makes the negative posters here the best recruiting tools opposing coaches could ever have. But nevermind, the offenders here are incapable of comprehending this so they will just continue to serve opposing coaches prime anti-Vols recruiting material.

Dooley has to work hard to pull that off . Like a trail lawyer trying to get himself off death row

That's gotta be it, right?

I mean it just can't have anything to do with the 5-7 record, losing to KY or Wilcox, Sirmon and several other assistants leaving...has to be the evil fans.

Has to be this. We need more sunshine pumpers to blow smoke up everyone's rear when coaches are bailing out and back to back losing seasons.:salute:
