If the Big12 sucks and Texas sucks.....why is everyone suggesting Santos won't start for 3 years?

If you don't think that the Texas plus the others league (or big twelve) sucks then sir you know nothing of Football.

How many NC can your league claim in the last ten years? If you want figures check the SEC

Texas, in particular, sux. All that talent, so few titles.

Or maybe it's just Mack Brown sux. hard to say.

But there is definitely some serious suxing going on, to be able to underachieve to such an extent.

If I were a UTx fan, I would hide my face in embarrassment.

#1 LB was a position of need for Tennessee. So, Santos would have played/started this year.

#2 Texas has been sucking the last few years inspite of having very good recruiting classes. They will have very good recruiting in the future as well. There will be some highly ranked LBs in Texas' recruiting future that will fit Texas' defense better than Santos, and they will be promised playing time right away.

Even more embarrassing than us the last few years? Hardly. Remember we did lose to a team from Kentucky. At best neither team (UT or UTx) was worth a crap. we shall see for the future.

The next chris simms

Not necessarily. The kid may end up being a great leader on that D-Line, which is exactly where he'll end up. If a kid grew up a fan of a school his whole life, and gets an offer a few days before NSD, I understand being upset as a fan, but at the end of the day a rational human being can't blame him.

Wouldn't you be mad that it took your dream school several misses with "bigger" prospects to finally offer you a week before national signing day? I would have to think long and hard before committing to that said school. To me it would be a slap in the face.

Goodbye, Mr. Santos.
Goodbye, Santos thread.
I'll be hanging out in the Otha Peters thread.
He's the one that has deserved all of this attention all along anyway.

Let him go , who cares. He will ride th e pine at Texas. Maybe he will get a splinter in his azz !! Kinda like Scroggins going to USC. He will wished he hadn't. Lets just call Santos a bad dream and forget him.

Santos is no longer relevant to our football experience. We have a great class. We will be fine and he will be fine. Once Lynx changes his avatar we will all forget about him.

They are in the middle of their Fulmer fall from grace Mack Brown is = Fulmer. Had a losing record 2 years ago, then rebounded to a four loss season last year...

We know how that story ends.

I would be happy to finally get it and want to get in there and prove I deserved it all along. Just me.

no I wouldn't care. UT could offer on NSD and I would still sign

One would think after all this time during his recruitment he would open up vol nation and see that this is one of the biggest threads that I have ever seen here. This is a statement of the fans at THE UT! Not that big 12 garbage. Just a shame he would turn just bc of his family. What about going hunting with O'Brien? What about walking through the REAL power T on game day playin in one of the best stadiums in college football. Where there are countless linebackers in the NFL from UT. Just doesn't make sense. He was my favorite recruit and I would still hope this is all a big scheme just to get us going lol can't wait to be back on top. V,B!

But they have had better talent and have done nothing with it.I do think he will get lost in the depth chart.I kinda feel sorry for him.We as fans loved him .Down there he is just another player.Next year they will get a high ranked LB AND DS will be playing mop up.

Is that not UT's goal in recruiting too? Why would we want to start a LB in Knoxville that is nothing more than a scrub in Austin? Doesn't sound like a solid plan when competing with the big boys in the SEC

If it were me, and Tennessee had been telling me all along that they just had better kids that they felt they could get to sign, I would accept it and understand. But if they came to me on NSD when I was about to sign the LOI with a camera right in my face and said they had a scholly offer, I'd burn the LOI of the school I was about to sign for everyone to see and start singing Rocky Top as loud as I could.

I look at it this way, many kids that apply to their dream college get put on a wait list. While they are on the wait list, they get accepted to another school that they love and is more than an acceptable back up.

They are all prepared to go to their second school, then a few days before orientation they get the late acceptance letter to school 1. They say screw school number 2 and take choice number one.

To the kid that gets the late acceptance, it doesn't matter how or when they got in, all that matters is that they got in.

Good point.Glad We haven't had their scrub Qbs.Was meaning that the fans would have cared for him a lot more here than there.I just hope We keep OTHA.Think he is a lot better. But We don't know if We would go after lbs next year are not.We took no OL this year.I think DS would develope better here.Should have gotten away from his family sounds like.

I would not be happy if UT offered my son so late.

most parents would be thrilled that their child had a chance to fulfill his dream of playing at his favorite school (for free). All the sour grapes arguments are getting worse by the hour

I am still trying to reconcile the following "facts" I have learned from this board/thread:

1. Texas sucks and will only suck worse over the next few years. The players suck and the coaches suck.

2. Dalton Santos is slow and fat and will suck at Texas but he fit the Tennessee system perfectly and would have been a high NFL draft pick if he had gone to Tennessee.

3. Dalton will never start at Texas (even though all of the Texas players suck) and the few snap he does get will be at DE or Kicker or H-back.
