'12 FL DB A.J. Leggett

I hope we can get AJII admitted. His film looks good. He plays offense also. The secondary is starting to come together. :dance2:

Lynx... you gotta change that avatar broseph.

I changed mine a few weeks ago to prepare for what happened today :)

Once I get off my mobile. Trust me, I don't support fatties. They're always bigger in Texas.

He looks even fatter compared to a prototypical UT LB like... say, Jerod Mayo. Mayo is and always was a poster child for the correct athletic frame for MLB.

The guy in your avatar looks more like he belongs in the Big 12 or some weak arse defensive league, imo, jmo.

I see no reason not to take this guy, if the staff thinks there is any chance he can get in we take him, if he doesn't get in that just opens up a spot for next years class.

The last minute visit by Leggett to Tennessee has certainly given the Marshall commit a lot to think about with just a few days remaining until signing day. Leggett said when leaving Knoxville Sunday afternoon that he has a lot to discuss with his family over the next 48 hours before he signs at 9 a.m. on Wednesday. You have to like the head-to-head matchup with the Vols going against Marshall and he again told us Sunday night that he has a lot to think about moving forward, despite still being committed to Marshall.

If we can get him enrolled, then it's hard to imagine him passing on playing in the SEC. Much better odds of making the NFL from UT than from Marshall. No disrespect toward Pennington or Moss.

I agree with the first part. You can get to the NFL from UT Martin if you have what it takes though.

I think it's easier for offensive players. They can put up gaudy stats and get noticed. I would think that playing against lower quality receivers would be a problem for a DB.

Yes you can. As a graduate of UTM I have seen several players go to the NFL from UTM(Lambert;Nunamaker;Tfannoi among others) and many many to the Canadian Football League.

Unless you're like 12 yrs old, this is just unacceptable!

I'm a graduate of Martin as well, but the only recent guy to get to the NFL from Martin was Fred Thomas, who did have a pretty decent career. I think he was the first UTM player in about 20-30 years to make it into the NFL.

He also told Hubbs that his GPA was now 2.4 instead of 2.2. We'll see. Brandon Fulse got in to the Barn with a weak ACT and Lacy got into Bama, so anything is possible.

True. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. We have the extra space to gamble, that is if the kid wants to give it a run with us.

His offer has got to be committable. We've got 4 spots remaining and 4 left on the board. If we take him and get him enrolled, great. If we take him and can't get him enrolled, we'll just use that spot next year - which is exactly what would happen if we just didn't take him. There is no risk at this point.

He likely signs with UT if there is any chance he qualifies. If he signs with UT, does not qualify, UT will either release him or his NLI will become void (not sure how this works) and he will be able to go to Marshall on scholarship.

Marshall holds his spot?
