Sounds like he really wants to be a Vol if he's still resisting with the parent full-court press. It will be interesting to see who wins out in the end.

He hasn't officially made his decision yet...Can't wait to see the reaction if he says he is sticking with his committment to UTK..There will be a lot of shocked fans in this thread..Me, I won't be surprised either way...

I just hope that if it's Texas, that is truly where Dalton wants to be..If it's anything other than that, then it will not bode will for the Santos family,IMO.

If he sticks with Tennessee, consider me the most shocked person on this board. I do believe Dalton loves Tennessee.

For the record, if Dalton does switch his committment to Texas, any frustration I have will not be toward him..Some of you can read between the lines..And that's all I'm saying..:whistling:

I know the parents are making a strong push for Texas and I am sure that there has to be a desire to go there, but I thought one of the major selling points for us was being in the SEC. Is the Texas pull so strong that his desire to play in the best conference is irrelevant?

Well, as of an hour ago it was not a done deal.

Do you know if dalton was going to call our coaches and discuss things with them first before making a decision? Is that why it's not a done deal...because he's so torn and wants to talk to those who have been in his camp for a long time and run some things by them that Texas said?

According to The Longhorn Network on ESPN.com, Santos will announce on Monday. I've been scouring the web for any tidbits and that is all I can find. Sorry it isn't more.

same here...the kid's in a tough spot...best of luck to him regardless of where he ends up

My thoughts exactly. Skeet...do u think he'll let the coaches know soon or wait till nsd? That's really my concern at this moment. Thanks.

Thanks, man. I'm trying to stay optimistic. I want him to be a Vol just as much as the rest of you. I'll be very disappointed if he switches to Texas.

Do me a favor since you seem like a sincere individual..If Dalton does switch to Texas, will you relay the message to him that we still support him and want him to have a great career at Texas..

I will admit that was difficult to type, but I meant every word of it and think Dalton should know that.:cray:

If we keep the posts at least slightly on topic, i.e. Dalton has pretty eyes no homo, then they won't have any reason to delete or move the 987 posts that they already have in the random forum chatter topic :)

there is going to be some ridiculous bashing on this kid if he switches to texas.

This should not be....the kid has done nothing....Fans have made him into a "must have" kid because of what... a highschool career.....We often thought he was packaged in with Neil....Well he is not....if he goes to TU.....

TU doesn't really want him but got caught up in the FAN Buzz.....

If it is over, then it is over.....this will be interesting....

He has been a over pursued 3*....He has a ton of upside potential that will be wasted....at TU....They call him a project at TU......at TU he is a project.....for them....out of position placement and size so the story goes on and on...

Felt and feel sorry for him....Dad has been there all whole way in his life in support .....so it is hard for him to walk away and say No to dad......

CSS must really like him for us to have held onto him this long.....

If we lose him......Most 3* or 4* would have been sent packing a while back.....

Santos is not just a "must get" nor is he a "must have" but it has all to do with the Fit and the vision that CSS has in his mind to put onto the best on the football field by position....CSS will get there....

This is a good sign for the future of our defense and the type coach CSS is......Just remember we were reminded in 98 and last year that DEFENSEs win NC....Neyland never worried about the Offense....Focus was defense.

You can score a lot of points but the other team can too and bet your backside.....if the emphasis is not on the right side of the ball....Neyland preached it and concentrated it...it still works...and it is Tennessee football....

IF you want championships and staying power get the defense above standard in the SEC....That is where we are headed....

So I applaud Tennessee for hanging in there for so long with Santos...The kid knows he just cannot combat it (parents)....The real holdout is with his parents....

The answer mr. santos should have given the caller is "we will let you know when I have convinced him to go to TU" " I have not convinced him YET"

IMO, he has made up his mind, and 0% chance he stays with the Vols.
