'12 TX LB Dalton Santos (Texas Commit)

I dont think he hates Tennessee, he was very upset when Sirmon and Wilcox left. The issue i have with him is how he treated our coaches after Dalton got the Texas offer. He should respect all the time and effort our coaches put into Dalton and his family. It tells me he is fake, you dont go from loving our coaches to treating them like trash in a 24 hour period.

I agree,skeet..His dad should appreciate how much time and effort that our coaches have put into Dalton's recruitment.

He should have the mindset that his son will be in good hands at Tennessee...Can he not see that Dalton will be valued more at UT(the real one) than at the other UT b/c of how late the Texas offer came in..Our coaches HAVE PUT A LOT OF EFFORT INTO RECRUITING him and REALLY WANT HIM TO BE A VOL and not just someone to fill the roster up.:ermm:

This is why Santos should stay committed to UT, as planned.

Prediction: If he decommits and goes to UTjr., he will be redshirted against his desires, adn probably moved to DL. He will weekly turn on ESPN and see UT has made it's comeback to football dominance and College Football Live will be talking about how Otha Peters has made great contributions to the defense as a freshman. He will be frustrated that he made the wrong decision to decommit will get pi$$ed of at his lack of plahying time at UTjr. and will transfer from UTjr. only to fall between the cracks as an extremely talented player that just didn't have the breaks go his way. :search:

Can't deny too much of this. Texas should always recruit well and should always win at least 10 games.

The disaster that Texas had the previous year going 5-7 wasn't a "recruiting" problem or a "Mack Brown" problem.

Texas handed over the reigns to Garrett Gilbert. He was a 5* QB recruited by all kinds of big schools. 6'5" kid who can run and he was the Gatorade National Player of the Year his senior year of high school......and he was terrible. What can you say - it happens sometimes.

This set Texas back a couple of years by forcing young men who weren't ready to play ahead of schedule. This caused about a 2 year hiccup for Texas. Before this, Mack had double digit wins for something like 11 or 12 straight seasons. This wasn't a case of Mack not recruiting well. Sometimes, even a 5* will miss.

Thanks for the concern! No health problems. Was born as healthy as could be. Just a LONG time coming trying to get to that point...I think you get where I am coming from without having to go further. It's always in God's time!

Nothing more wonderful than a little girl. She was born 3 months premature (1 # 6 oz), but has not had one negative issue health wise in her 3 years. I'm your typical guy that wanted a little boy (have one of those now too!), but my girl has me wrapped around her finger. Spittin' image of me, too! Kids are truly a blessing!

It was a awesome day when Justin Wilcox gave Mack the ole:finger3: last year.

I would have LOVED to have seen that:naughty:..Do you know what was said to make Justin do that?? Just curious..Had to have been pretty bad for him to resort to that b/c Justin is one of the most easy-going people I have ever seen(from the interviews I have seen).

So a program that is absolutely loaded with amazing talent was set back two years because a QB didn't pan out?

Hell of a system you guys are running.

Gilbert was so gun shy...every time I watched y'all play he seemed scared to death out there.

Three things.
1. Garrett Gilbert never really ran well
2. We aren't saying mack can't recruit, we're saying he can't HELP But recruit
3. Reins

This. When I read that garbage I laughed. One recruit at the QB position has single handedly sent Texas into a tail spin. Ground breaking stuff.

Hes alot like fulmer, he is only as good as the assistants he surrounds himself with. Good coaches like saban replace assistants year in and year out without missing a beat.

I hope this award isn't the touch of death like the cover of Madden cause our backup QB got it.

So skeet...do u think cdd is more fulmer/Mack or saban in regard to the above?

I dont think we'll know til after this upcoming season. Any coach worth his salt will tell you, for every true freshman you start =a loss. Its not like we had a team loaded with upperclassman and had to play a Freshman here or there, we had them all over the field. We could have 11 Eric Berrys playing defense, and would still suck if all 11 EBS were true freshman.

Holy Jeff-Luc-lengthed thread, Batman.

Would have been longer if everything from just after midnight to 4:30am this morn didn't magically disappear...that was a fun time to sit back with a beer and a snack an ur finger on the refresh button. Good times! :good!:

Yeah. We'd be too small to stop the run.
