Ok so TU makes Santos an offer with one week to go until NSD? WTF?!?! He's been in Texas his whole life and finally make him an offer? That shows me that he never was top priorty for them. My question is, if he leans that was what can CDD do to keep him in the right color orange?

I thought OCI said Sirmon thought he was still a lock? I think McKeefery reinforced the "lockage" and probably was so jacked up that he pulled the whole "livin in a van down by the river" SNL scene except that he probably was bench pressing Dad sitting on the sofa while outlining the plan for Santos and had already thrown Mom out the window. That's why his Dad wasn't too high on them because he kept getting thrown around the living room and told to drop and giv'em 20! :p

True question, your 18 years old, you are committed to Oklahoma.

1 week before signing day, Tennessee comes and says, sorry we screwed up on your evalutation and want to offer you a scholorship.

For me, it was always my dream to run through the T and play for the Vols. I wouldnt have had a second thought and I would have flipped.

Yeah and we want you to switch positions because we don't think you are going to be a LBer. You might get on the field there for us in a couple of years at DE if you work real hard, and we don't recruit over you, and pick up a natural DE or ten by then. You still want to flip? I love Tennessee, but I wouldn't go there to ride the pine.

Chatty Cathys with far more free time than yourself?

I reckon so. I think ill follow a new personal policy. Either ds reaffirms his commitment and someone will inevitably make a thread saying "dalton stays!" or he decommits and someone makes a thread that says "dalton is gone :'(". Ill wait for that moment and get the info I need. A very small percent of me wants him to decommit only because I read through tombo's rant last night and it was pure gold.

Not so sure why everyone is in such an uproar... He hasn't even commited to Texas yet as far as I can tell.... I know a lot of people are saying it is going to happen, but a lot of people say a lot of things....and most of them say "book it" afterward

1. Randy Shannon is going to be out next DC
2. Lovie Smith's plane is still go around in the air and still hasn't ran out of fuel
3. Gruden own's land in east Tennesee and his wife was a cheerleader (even though he won't leave Tampa)
4. The DC from Navy is going to be everything from out DC to our LB coach
5. Kirby Smart will take CDD's jib before NSD

lol.. Just a few to mention....... Santo may not be a vol (I hope he is though), but at least wait until he flips (if he flips) before we get to carried away.. :)

This doesn't really have much to do with Santos, but I think it is interesting enough to post.

The last UT commitment to switch to Texas (that I can remember) was ATH/WR prospect Demarco Cobbs in 2009. Does anyone remember this?

Cobbs was slated to be a WR prospect for the Vols and was a 4* player. I think he played QB in HS. He was hurt last year for the LongHorns, but I am pretty sure he will be back next year as a redshirt sophomore. What is even more interesting is the position he plays. He was going to be a WR type guy, but he switched to LB at Texas and was going to see some serious PT last year before a season-ending injury.

Just thought it was interesting. This is the 2nd time in the last 5 years that Texas has tried to switch a UT LB commit.

I have a feeling that when DS is in Austin this weekend, Mack Brown & Manny Diaz will tell him and his parents exactly what they want to hear about where they see him playing and when he could get on the field.

These message board notions that DS will only have a shot to play DE at Texas and that he won't get on the field for years and that his parents are forcing him against his wishes to go to Texas have no basis in fact but have been repeated so many time in this thread that everyone assumes they must be true.
