'12 VA DT Korren Kirven (Bama signee)

Will Sunseri be there? I thought he was visiting Santos again on Wednesday, but I could have my days mixed up I suppose.

Doesn't sound like this visit is about spending time with the DC. Its more about DD and academics IMO. SS reportedly will be in tex.

Do we get him? Who knows...but the fact that his parents are coming tells me that his parents have been told by him that he is very torn between VT & UT. They have decided to come down and see for themselves what UT is all about and then go back and help him decide where to go. Hopefully his parents will keep an open mind and aren't stuck on him attending VT because this is where DD shines.

I think you are right on.

CDD is one of the best in the country with parents. Gotta be feeling confident in where we stand with KK right now.

We need a surprise visit by MZTerry :)

The staff and VN fans seem real high on this guy. .... Is it a fact he will sit out next year due to injury? If so, all this attention and hype seems to be a bit much.

Can some of you older recruitniks recall recent prospects that sat out as freshmen due to injury, then turned out to be great? Serious question. Real curious how big a deal it is.

Bump my own post because I didn't see anyone answer this.

VT is a major player. They have been the favorite from day 1. The Lynchburg area has strong ties to VT and if he goes anywhere else, it will be a shocker to people in the area.

Luckily for us, he said his announcement will shock the world when he commits. Even the Russians are paying attention.

Unfortunately I believe this is one of the few mistakes the staff made in recruiting. Kid looks like a baller. Really wish would have started on him earlier.

I'm very surprised they aren't bringing in Shelton if he wanted to visit. I know they like Gray but the kid has some legit academic questions surrounding him. Out of all the commits I'd say he is definitely the most likely to not make it.

I believe Shelton is coming in for a visit.

FWIW BoL(UA site) just posted their final predictions for the UA class. They are predicting Kirven to UT and that UA will sign D Tomlinson for our last DL spot. FWIW.

Hope your optimism isn't naivism.

Simply basing my prediction on recent developments. Kirven, I feel very good about. Especially with his parents coming in tomorrow without him to check out the academic side of things. I think we land him on NSD. As for Patterson, I think we get him due to the fact that we now appear to be right there with the rest of them in the race for Patterson. Over the past couple of months, everyone seemed to believe we lost all momentum built with Patterson, and that ultimately we had been eliminated. Well now, the coaches appear to have optimism regarding Patterson, and we appear to be a favorite for Patterson. Just odd how this recently came about this close to NSD. Not to mention, Patterson's main goal is to go to a place where he knows he will get into to the NFL as soon as possible. Tennessee is his best shot at that with our offense, and Bray slinging the ball around to him. Therefore, I think we land Patterson come NSD.
