So was it the offer from Texas that started this? I remember like two days ago there was an article that he said he was 99.9% Vol. What changed his mind. Sorry to keep asking but I want some details! Lol.

Yes. Thursday of last week they offered.

haha... There are a few people that know but that's just because they know me personally. I like to leave it unknown.

Anyone I tailgate with knows but they've been sworn to secrecy.

I WILL tailgate with you one day. Get you drunk, and I will know what up. Just a matter of time bro. I will get what I desire on this matter. I have patience. And booze

Yep. Texas has swept in and offered him at the last minute.

Most believe that is because they were holding out for Green-Beckham but he is likely headed to Arky now. That is how tight Texas is with scholarships.

Santos grew up a Texas fan.

The only hope we have is that he spurns them because they waited too long. But I think Mack Brown will smooth that over with the in-home on Wednesday and then the OV next weekend.

Again, if we keep Santos I will be floored. Losing Wilcox and Sirmon + getting a Texas offer....

If Sunseri/Dooley pull this off I will be extremely, extremely shocked.

Thanks, Bam.

This is how Dad sees it imo: a move to Knoxville though supportive would be stressful. All moves are. Why not stay at home and reap the prestige of having a son playing for the Longhorns? Truth is if Dalton really prefers the Vols, Dad is setting things up for a tough resentment. But who knows?

Not disrespecting skeeter AT ALL. I definitely look forward to and put stock in his posts.

But he was pessimistic about keeping santos after sirmon left. And it turned out ok (for a few days at least). Until santos decommits I ain't giving up hope

Can't believe I just read several more pages of people trying to justify not getting Santos on NSD. Anyone who thinks we can compensate for losing him is in denial. F a "solid" DT or a "solid" RB. We need to keep Santos.

At any rate, this whole debacle that has unfolded over the last 10 pages is stupid. Let's just wait until Wednesday or the weekend to make more concrete conclusions.

Agreed, no matter who he chooses, this kid is a stud MLB, and we need him bad.

Explain what makes Santos that important. Not trying to be a prick btw.

I'd change that avatar.

I agree that we need a solid MLB in this class. Peters is our best LB commit. But we need more than one.

Judging by what I saw last year speed in the defensive backfield and to the edge is much more important. The middle of the defense held up ok.

We haven't had a LB with a mean streak like his in a long time. He wants to hurt people. That alone makes me want him. Plus we aren't super deep at LB. Especially running a 3-4 base defense.

I disagree with anyone who says we don't need or want him. Dooley and Sunseri both love the guy.

That being said... we'll replace him with a DL (Briscoe) and we still have Peters who will also be a MLB so it won't make or break us. I will agree with that much.

All my opinion, but he has the exact type of attitude you want in the lockerroom. He's very talented, and on top of that, he is obviously one of the most competitive kids UT has ever seen. He seems like a leader. A guy that, even down 40pts with 10 seconds left in the 4th is still going to give 100%.

Forget his measurables. We've all noticed them. Forget his talent. He has the right attitude. He wants to get better. He wants to hit guys.
