'12 D.C. DB Kenneth Crawley

these kids don't hand over grades, these coaches have to ask for them from his teachers or schools. im sure neither was done until push came to shove.

Asking for a copy of the transcript is one of the first things done in the process. Spending time on this kid is beyond crazy if his gpa was less than 1.

it's high school dude. If teachers wanted they could take all of his late homework from the beginning of the year and accept it. I don't think there's really any laws regarding how teachers grade students.

Notsureifserious.

keep asking.

If a kid and the hs coach refuse to send a copy of the transcript move on. Wasting precious time and more importantly waiting to offer other guys like Shelton was very costly if this kid did in fact have less than a 1.0gpa.

recruiting is not an exact science yet its close, haha. but i agree, however if the talent is that good, i'm sure some coaches just wait.

How do you not just flunk out of school with an under 1 GPA?

Georgia making a move for Crawley? I guess the words "grade issues" rubbed off of Reverend Richt's hand.... err...I mean cheat sheet.

maybe Reverend Richt laid hands on the transcript. The lord works in mysterious ways, just saying :loco:

The jokes about Richt go too far on this board. The guy isn't perfect but he is a respectable man. Go watch the extras from Facing the Giants movie, there is a real good interview of him there.

Serious question. Did UT really accept Crawley's commitment eventhough he, according to some here, has horrible grades?

No one knew about the grade issue until about a month ago. Maybe less. As soon as the coaches found out, they looked around.

I agree. He definitely is a man of character and doesn't deserve the mocking.

Tennessee parted ways with him. We were indicated it was grades. He just recently got a test score back and is just now starting to take visits. It looks as if he may have a chance to qualify, but Tennessee parted ways with him so nothing is going to happen. He never visited here in the fall or in December because he couldn't without a test score.

So it wasn't grades??? epic.

Any chance Bonner gets tripped up by the admissions department.

If that's a question, I actually don't know. Might be a good question. I'm sure we'll hear responses like, "if we're after him this hard this late, then grades shouldn't be an issue."

It was intended to be a question, forgot about the question mark. The reason why I asked is because sometimes players with an arrest on their record get flagged by the admissions department at some schools. I know FSU had something like that going on with one of their EE's this year.

I don't doubt it. I think the clearinghouse is very subjective sometimes.
