I know we still have the biggest game of all next week, but I was wondering what our starting five will look like next year?

1) I just wanna know if you guys think we will have more size on the court in our starting five next year b/c these match-ups will the Alabama's, Florida's and LSU's make us look like a high school team. Or will we stay small with Ramar, Lofton and Jujuan starting? Last night's game still pisses me off to no end.

2) Will Jujuan come off the bench hopefully?

3) Will Tatum start next year?

Right now I would think next year's starting five would be Ramar, Lofton, Crews, Chism and Prince (if he's eligible or does he have to sit one more?). Or it might be Ramar, Lofton, Chism, Prince and Tatum with Crews and Jujuan first off the bench.

Prince should will be playing next year. You only need to sit out one season after transfering to another school.

I don't see Jajuan coming off the bench, he's our #2 scoring option...but, I suppose it's possible.

I envision this lineup:

1 - Ramar Smith
2 - Chris Lofton
3 - Jajuan Smith
4 - Duke Crews
5 - Wayne Chism

Tatum or Prince could start at the 3 if they earn it...and Jajuan could be a nice spark off the bench. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out. One thing's for sure, we'll be deep. Prince, Tabb, Childress, Tatum, Howell and Williams will all contribute.

Yeah, I wasn't sure if it was a situation like the Brandon Warren thing where the coach did not give him his release.

I don't see Duke Crews playing much 5 next year...he's too small...he'll have all off-season to learn the 4, and I think he'll play almost all of his minutes there from now on.

One thing is for sure. Childress will not be a full time starter.

Why can't Chism and Crews be on the court at the same time next year? I know Bruce did not want to start them together this year b/c they were both frosh.

do you remember what happened when they both started against Ole Miss? They both had 3 fouls before halftime

Well, depth was the issue this year though. Next year we will likely see them on the floor at the same time more often due to more depth at the 4-5 position.

They'll both be in the court at the same time...with Williams (and hopefully McClain) we'll have a little more depth in the post...Crews will play almost all of his minutes at the 4...they both played 5 this year because we lack size inside, and it's difficult for freshmen to learn how to play both positions.

All I know is I'm tired of seeing the ball go down to the post and praying that the guy walks b/c if he doesn't then he's either going to lay it up or get hacked and go to the line for a three point play. I just want to see us next year knock some people on their butts when they swing it down to the post.

I don't think that Crews and Chism will both be starting next year until we prove to have a few decent guys to back them up. Obviously the two Smiths, Lofton, and Chism will be starting next year and I think it will be a PF by commitee approach. I think we will see one of the Fr. start there some, Childress some, and Crews some.

You may be right, but I was figuring that Childress, Cameron Tatum and JP Prince could provide valuable minutes at that position.

I am pretty sure that Prince is slated to play a guard position. He was recruited as a PG and that's what he played at Zona.

Actually, Pearl has already said that Crews/Chism would in fact be on the floor together alot next year...

Didn't intend to do any posting today. Ya sucked me right into the conversation...

I stand corrected.
I guess we're both nursing multiple hangovers.:whistling:

Don't sweat it. Actually, I don't understand how he plans to make it work myself. Save for the fact that if you can get them matched up on a guard you've created a pretty sweet mismatch...
