Heard the Santos family is very happy with the hire of Sunseri. They will be back in Knoxville soon. I think it's pretty much guaranteed Dalton still ends up a Vol.

I would be, too.

This isn't one of those "He left, so he sucks" things because I've been saying this for awhile now....

Wilcox never impressed me. He was hired from Boise State with that assumption that he had something to do with their defense being "good"... when here are the facts:

a) Everyone knows their schedule was weak.
b) They were just as good after he left Boise State. Nothing changed.

I didn't like losing Sirmon, mostly for recruiting reasons, but I honestly feel like we upgraded with Sunseri. He's an ace recruiter and he wants to dominate a game. Not just slow down the other team.

And for everyone who says "We took an Alabama guy".... that isn't true. He's a Pitt guy. He was only at Alabama for a few years.

Alabama didn't complain too much about hiring an "LSU guy" in Saban, did they?

Great hire. Best hire of all the names I heard mentioned.

I'm just glad they got it over with and went west. That's where they wanted to be and we would have to deal with this every year until they finally decided to go. It was never if , it was when.

I think the emphasis will be on multiple BUT yes, love the idea of A.J. and DS side-by-side, w/ the addition of McCullers and Sentimore to the D-Line...just nasty.

That is what I got from Dooley's presser also, but I just read where Sunseri said tonight that he would be installing the 3-4 this Spring. If so, I love it -- but he could have just meant that he would install it to be used along with the 4-3 we already run.

Either way, we have come a very long way towards having the personnel to run a 3-4. Multiple sounds good, but the question I have is that it would be preferable to run one or the other but do it very well rather than able to run both but not be great at either.

To be able to run both schemes very well is the answer. I think CDD has/is recruiting personnel to do just that. The way CDD is recruiting, in 1 -2 years time, I think he will have enough depth, quality depth, to run either scheme as the situation dictates. In other words, it's not if a 3-4 is better than a 4-3,,,it's situational based on your quality of manpower.

Santos is goin to be a beast in Orange and White. I know Dooley said we will go multiple but I think our base would be 4-3 with some 3-4 incorporated in there. And in '13 I think we go 3-4 as our base.

Poster on VQ claiming he has talked to a basketball coach of a prominent Knoxville HS and Santos' father has already talked to this HS coaching staff about his freshmen son playing there. He is claiming that the Santos family is still planning on moving to Knox with Santos. Not ground breaking news at all. But I thought I'd share.

Why would he talk to a basketball coach?
