I think the Vol fans have felt like we are scratching and clawing for every inch of leverage and hope. Every recruit is like a fight to the death. We are so desperate for improvement that it is going to our heads. I feel like I'm a level headed person but it still gets to me too. TN has been historically too good to be this down. I think winning will cure it all and I hope it starts next year. This program is in desperate need of a 9 win season and a big bowl or BCS game.

UT needs to do something fast. Losing the faith of some recruits

I'm not going to get too worried just yet. Of course rumors are going to fly. Santos has admitted that he is concerned with the fact UT hasn't found a replacement yet. And of course, that comment is going to be blown out of proportion. I haven't read anything that even slightly indicates he intends to decommit.

The only issue I see is that we aren't much closer to making a hire. Buddy Green's interview is today, and apparently Pat Narduzzi, according to VQ, is possibly in the race. Narduzzi was contacted by CDD last week.

Skeeter's comments are a pretty big cause for concern.

I'm not sure about this, but can anyone confirm that it's his dad influencing him to take more visits and contact other schools?

I'd love to have the guy stick with UT but if he cant grasp that we are trying to find the best DC for success and he doesnt have the patience to see that play out then by all means go somewhere else as his dedication to the orange was obviously not there.

Dalton needs to come to Tn just like we need him. He's flip-flopped from OK State to Tn. Since committing, each interview he gives sounds like someone totally different. He just needs to grow up.
Now, Danny Obrien has been the opposite. He's made a choice and he's sticking by it. He's been a leader and called others to offer support.
The two of them are supposed to room together and be hunting partners. Santos needs to stick to that decision and learn from Danny.

I think Skeeter has been the one making that point when he talks about Santos' recruitment. If the recruits are the right fit for this program then the wait for a new DC should not matter today. However, I think you HAVE to have a new DC in place by this weekend, like almost everyone on this board has agreed.

If not, the blatant reality is that it would say a LOT about the state of Dooley's program.

I'm tired of hearing about the coaching changes. For all we know, Wilcox and Sirmon left pleasantly with their own long-term benefit in mind. No quarrel there. We all know the story with Russell. That's basic turnover. Happens all the time. With Hiestand. I couldn't care less. People just jump to the conclusion that CDD is a terrible person to be around and he's ruining the program. Dumb.

Thank you.

The basic point is that we don't know ****.

We don't know who was here, not here, interviewing, flying in. We don't know who was offered, what they were offered, who turned what down. Not at all.

People are FLIPPING out. A quality hire takes time. It's amazing the reversal of so many people. "omg sunseri? he's awful." ...sunseri may not come... "omg sunseri was who we needed and he hates us :(."

It's incredible, really. And WHOEVER we hire... people will moan. Know who else those same people b****ed about? Oh, Justin Wilcox. The guy they're flipping out because he just went elsewhere.

GBO.

Bingo. Not to mention that most of those guys (minus Sirmon) were dogged and trashed on this board throughout the season anyway.

Exactly. People didn't want Wilcox because all he coached was a team that was successful in the WAC. In essence, what did he really prove here? Not a whole lot. Now they're b****ing because he's gone. People couldn't stand Hiestand at points in the season because our running game sucked. People didn't even know who Sirmon was until he started beasting it on the recruiting trail. People b****ed about Russell because, once again, our ST weren't any good.

Just dumb.

It's the classic case of the fickle TN fan. I remember when Kiffin was hired, and I went to the Ole Miss game. This guy behind me was talking about how Kif was gonna bring us back, and how he was the man for the job. Crompton threw an interception, and the dude dog cussed everyone in Kiffin's family, his dog, and all his friends. You just can't take anything most fans say during the season with anything but a grain of salt. IMO TIFWIW

Thanks...Nice to see a little common sense here!

And the sky was falling after Chuck Smith left. I don't think he even landed another coaching job.

Thank you for having some common sense and logically correct.
