Both Clemson and South Carolina never lost touch with him, advising him that they would let him know that if one becomes available. South Carolina may offer again, but it may not be because of missing out on Shumate. It could be someone not being able to qualify

Yea or some more transfers. Wouldn't be surprised to see guys like Scruggs or DL Moore transfer of the WRs at least.

Also Thursday, USC recruiter Shawn Elliott met with Davis. According to Jones, Elliott wanted to know how Davis would react to an offer Jones feels USC would offer if Davis made it clear he would commit. DAVIS plans to tall things over with his mother tonight. Davis is scheduled to visit Wake Forest next weekend and Tennessee the weekend after that. He's looking at UNC or Ole Miss for a visit January 27th.

SC offered a greyshirt and told him they will give him a scholly if there is room

Quinshad would have a scholarship for the 2012 class if there ends up being a spot for him. If not, the offer is a greyshirt. The USC staff has been up front and honest with him through the whole process. I don't think he'll take the greyshirt but it wasn't a bad move.

If I am Dooley, that article would be under his nose right now... and his coach at Gaffney. Gaffney produces some good players. UT has gotten quality guys from there in the past. It would be a great place to have a pipeline to.

I know. I think it wasn't bad considering the lack of room, but a player as good as Davis probably won't grayshirt.

I'm more nervous about the Tar Heels. You know they are selling him on recent receivers like Hicks and Little.

Yes, a cock fan.

If a kid is going to redshirt as a freshman, a greyshirt really isn't a bad option. He gets to enroll in January with 5 to play 4. Again, I don't think Quinshad will take the greyshirt but I wouldn't rule out USC not having a spot on signing day for him either.

I know kids have their own reasons for the schools they choose but UNC to me seems to present too many openings to recruit against. It is a basketball school with no consistent history at all in football. They can point to those guys. UT can point to a long string of guys including D Moore and future draftees Hunter and Rogers. Their stadium is small by comparison. Football is an afterthought to most of their fanbase and alumni. Butch Davis is probably about as good as they could ever hope for as an HC... and he failed there. They play in the ACC which is pretty weak right now. They will get very, very limited exposure on TV.

In almost every way a school can be second rate with regard to football... UNC is.

If you were a player of his quality... how would you take it if you were told that you "might" have a slot or maybe you could come and pay your own way... I'd be ticked especially with other quality programs showing me love.
