FWIW I've heard nothing new but I'm still saying RS.
I've been reading this thread since it started and like most of you was wondering why a DC hire was not announced at the press conference. It seemed that this would be absolutely crucial to shore up a recruiting class and the average fellow would think that if we don't get someone soon it's curtains...then I had an epiphany!!!
The NCAA limits when you can contact recruits. Not us but everyone and we just so happen to be in a dead period, see link below.

No one can contact recruits at this time. Announcing at the press conference would have been totally premature and the speculation on when an announcement will come may play into a specific time frame to get THE MOST BANG FOR THE BUCK....
Think about it, all the news about who won this and who won that will be all over with if the announcement is made after the national championship game before the 12th when recruits can officially be contacted then TN would be alone in the spotlight. If you were the AD making a "big splash" hire and waited till all the bowl news was over with it would make sense to do it around that time for 3 reasons:
1) It wouldn't have any other news to compete with
2) Every recruit in the country that watched ESPN would see it
3) You give the DC the opportunity to capitalize on all that free press
That is what I'd do anyway!
