'12 SC WR Quinshad Davis

Is he really? He wouldn't be in my top 5

You should re-evaluate him then. He will be a great on along with our other WR and TE commits. Runs crisp routes, has really good hands...is a quality young man, is smart. Just what our team needs.

Watching him in a live game situation last night, he is a definite take. The fact that he could play for up to 4 years makes him that much better. QB Peterman to WRs Croom Bowles, Redding, Howard and Q Davis; add TE Meredith and wow, just wow.

Don't forget Cameron Clear once he sheds the peach fuzz. If these kids payoff, that will leave more available spots to get more DLs, OLs and RBs next year. Maybe even a kicker.:dance2:

I was just talking about the 2012 class. I agree with you that our offensive weapons are blowin up! Talent, depth, quality; been a long time...future is close!

Davis had a somewhat quiet week of practice, but he showed up when it counted. He was able to get open quite a bit and was a constant outlet for the quarterbacks when they were in trouble.

This beast had over 100 catches and over 2,000 yards through the air as well last year.

"I really want to go to the place I feel I’m most wanted," Davis said. "Redshirting my freshman year is really not something I want to do. I want to get on the field and contribute when I get there.

"Academics are important to me. I'm a real academic guy. I have a 4.1 GPA in honors classes. The school’s atmosphere and surroundings are also something I’m going to consider."

Wake did win the other half of the statement. Academics sounded pretty important so it will be hard for us to win that side of the statement.

If he wants to be a Dr or lawyer then Wake is a great option Their other programs are actually pretty "average" for a private school.

Totally disagree. So does Lang Wiseman...played basketball at UT then went to Harvard Law. The toughest law school to get in.

You can do anything after undergrad at UT!
AND you are a VOL!

Med and law school are both post grad degrees. (I know you know)

So undergrad academics is a wash.... Vols it is! :)

I was talking about pre-law, pre-med, biology, chemistry, history, pol sci, and other majors that get someone into those schools. Their business school was rated 48th behind numerous public schools. UT was 60th. UF is 47th. All according to US News.

That isn't all that good for a private school with exclusive enrollment. (I think they are still the smallest FCS school)

College ranking by us news, etc is more unreliable than recruit rating by scout...
I still say UT Knoxville is just as good if not better. Not a big fan of private schools in general, but that's just me.

Bet UT has a better academic support System for the athletes than Wake does.

Talked to some of my buddies that really follow HS football in SC and they rave about this kid and his potential. Hope we land him...

Sorry buddy, but you are dreaming if you think UTK touches Wake academically. Wake is a top 25 academic school for undergrad in the nation (per U.S. News) and has one of the highest records of academic integrity. Kids earn the grades they get, and there is grade deflation as opposed to inflation that consistently occurs at public schools.

Tennessee competes for sure in graduate programs, but as far as undergrad goes, there aren't many non-ivy league schools where you can get a better education.

As far as academic support for athletes, I would say that Wake definitely takes care of there athletes and a great deal of them end up graduating and going on to grad school.

I didn't mean to start a public vs private education battle here but I do think we can agree on this. Wake will win the perception battle on who has the best education. Not necessarily true but is in perception.

We obliterate the football wise, and our academics are nothing to sneeze at.

VOL!

This debate is academic (no pun intended). Mzterry is UT's ace recruiter in the hole on Davis. Advantage: UT!
