Ravens release Jamal Lewis

Better yet come over to the Titans and hook up with Henry again and win a superbowl this time.

I believe the Ravens wore out and used up Lewis kind of the way Houston did with Earl Campbell. Jamal's best days are clearly behind him and the Ravens knew it.

Except Earl Campbell had bad knees back when that was a career ender.

Pittsburgh baby!
he would be perfect there..........i'd love this....for obvious reasons..........
I'd like to see him in Carolina. God knows Dan Henning needs a stud running back.
could also live with him in Charlotte....they need a big back, but.........

Dan Henning got fired.
you beat me to it.........

You could say that every single year and be right most of the time.
:birgits_giggle: a lot of Panther fans wish that would have been right 2 years ago.....
He didn't do a terrible job with the Panthers. Unfortunately for him, Jake Delhomme had to battle injuries all year, coupled with just a down year in general; and Chris Weinke proved to be completely out of his league when he got the chance to start.
the problem with Dan Henning is he never adjusted the scheme to fit the players on hand. his scheme worked great with Stephen Davis as the big bruising back and physica WR's like Mohammed and Smith....and a big physica O lIne.

the past couple of years the running game hasn't been there, in part because DeShaun foster ain't the guy and in larger part because the O line has been injury riddled and completely inadequate. there's never been a shotgun implemented in this offense and if you think TN doesn't use a TE.........you ought to see the Panthers not use a TE...it's ridiculous. Henning's offense was VERY VERY VERY predictable...

all that to say, Jamal would look great in black and gold.

Yeah they cut him because he would have counted against their cap significantly , however they will aggressively pursue him. Maybe he can go to Indy? I know , I know they have cap issues as well, but the thought of that is cool.

addai is doing fine.

I hope you're wrong. At age 27/28 that seems a bit premature to end meaningful playing time.

I hear that the Titans are suppose to release Travis Henry due to cap reasons and Chris Brown is gone so....Jamal to the Titans????

I can see it now. Titans sign Lewis, he blows his knee out, and Henry takes us to the promise land again!!!!
Actually the way Henry started running the ball last year, I think Jamal would be playing back up to him...

Travis Henry averaged 4.5 ypc, Jamal 3.6 ypc. I'm not sure if Jamal will ever get back to being dominant. Maybe he just needs to get away from the Ravens. Donte Stallworth didn't look like he was going to be a good NFL receiver, until he got away from the Saints. I'd like to see what Lewis can do on a team with another offensive threat.

I thought the Titans had a lot more money now? Unless maybe they are trying to sign someone big, but I think that would be a bad move.

Unless LenDale White can step it up.

Henry is probably going to be cut before monday. The problem is that he is due about $8 million in the form of a roster bonus. The Titans are not going to pay it, so unless they can reach an agreement before monday he will be cut and become a free agent. They will still do what they can to get him back but the way things are looking in free agency with such a thin talent pool if he hits the open market some team may grossly overpay to get him.

The Titans will wallow in mediocrity again if they don't retain Travis Henry.

The Titans can be a playoff team in 2 years. I think w/o Henry, it will take at least another year.

I just hope he returns to form..
He's absolutely ruined my fantasy team the last two years

Yeah, Titans are 30 million + under the cap, they will definitely use these money to catch some big fishes at the FA market, but I guess maybe not RB. They would probable feature LenDale White next year. Titans already invested a lot on him, he was touted as the 1st rounder except the off-field issue, I guess it's the time for him to step up.
