Anyone else shocked by Tennessee lack of Nation respect they to me appear to be getting? If I am not mistaken in 1 poll they didnt get even 1 vote. Where as when Vandy beat Florida instantly jumped. Look at the poll and think.... A how many teams in poll we have beat. and B Isnt the body of work (schedule, quality wins, a large chunk of losses without the team star. What else is needed?

i agree, but the poll for this week hasnt come out yet so we dont know if tenn will be ranked....

i saw one interesting thing yesterday...espn listed fla's two key wins as ohio st and PROVIDENCE....

we beat about 5 teams better than providence...i dont see why billy doesnt schedule tougher non-conference opponents when he knows his team is going to be hard to beat

Who cares.....Polls mean nothing once March Maddness goes down. We'll be in the 64/65, whatever seed matters not because the days where we had a snowballs chance in hell of even getting there are not in the distant (Buzz) (Buzz) (Buzz) past.

the coverage i saw on around the horn and PTI was more about florida losing and how eveyone's jumping off the bandwagon instead of tennessee winning.

We weren't very far removed from being torched at SC and hadn't won a road game before Sat.

Does that include the 5 minute interview with Bruce Pearl? :)

Quality ROAD wins is a major factor, but we definitely have nailed the other factors.

right now lundardi lists florida's big wins as ohio state, tennessee, and @ kentucky.

also the important part is that right now we've got a fabulous RPI ranking. that's what helps. the S Carolina loss will hurt drastically.

Eh, look at how many years it took Gonzaga to go from a double-digit seed to a single-digit one, even after some very impressive tournament showings.

The irony was the first time they raised hell about "lack of respect" and received a single-digit seed, they got bounced in round #1.

I wouldn't worry about respect or lack thereof at this point. You are solidly where you need to be, which is in the tournament and playing well, probably advancing in the seeeding as things wind down over the next ten days to Selection Sunday.

If you win again this weekend, when the new polls come out next Monday my suspicion is that you will be ranked. But as has been pointed out by others, it is meaningless because the polls are not used to put you in the tournament.

wins breed respect, keep winning and your reward will come. Even out here in Oklahoma man you could'nt turn on a sports talk show or nothing without seeing how the Vols blew out(their words not mine) the Gators.

To everyone who is using the loss to SC as an excuse for UT not to be ranked, Vanderbilt lost to Furman and App State.

UT isn't ranked, because sportswriters have short memories and the coaches are too busy with their own teams to care (or in the case of SEC coaches, they hate Pearl because they see the threat he represents).

UT will be in the final poll if they beat Georgia, and might even get in at the bottom if they don't.

All that aside, all that matters is that the team plays well in all of those games after Georgia. My pre-season hope for this young team was just for them to get a bid in the dance, so everything from here on out is just icing anyway.
