This UT team plays differently away from home. The tournament will most likely be difficult for the Vols.

Law Gator. As much as you are a pain in the @ss, At least you have the intestinal fortitude to come back on here and say job well done. Most smack talkers would have not posted for a while.

:salute:
Yeah, that. :)

I will say tht I don't particularly want to face the Gators again this season... so if they were to still be slumping going into the SECT and the Vols happen to win a few games in the SECT, I'd be OK with that.. :)

Thanks, Law, but I have to disagree with you about one thing. I think a really good FL effort last night might have brought about a different result. I didn't feel like the Vols as much answered UF's run as Gators ran out of time. Like someone else already posted, I don't want to meet up with FL again in post-season.

I really don't think so. UT was bound and determined to win that game and they were simply the better team. They weren't going to lose it, no matter what UF did to try to get back in it.

At this point, I honestly don't know if I want a rematch with you in the SEC tournament. On the one hand, if Florida could win a rematch, it would do wonders for their confidence. On the other hand, a loss would be utterly devastating to their psyche going into the tournament..

I don't know how the brackets will shape up, but you'd have to think any rematch would be in a final.
In all honesty, I'd just as soon the Vols didn't wind up playing that many games in the SEC tourney. A championship would be nice and everything, but that many games is a drain going into the dance.

I somewhat agree, but a run in the SECT could also prove to be very valuable for Ramar, Wayne and Duke..

Well, let me ask you this. Who is going to go further into the tournament, Florida or Tennessee?

Honestly, it seems to me that right now expectations are turning and that UT may, if this keeps up, have all the pressure on them to get to the second weekend.

Expectations are turning...and it's true pressure-wise it's could be thrown on us in a big way.

With UT being a young team who knows how we'll respond. It'll either be we'll have the "devil may care" attitude or the pressure will be too much to handle and we'll fold...it's tough to say.

Whose going further in the Tourney? My heart says UT...my head says "we nearly blew a massive lead at home"...I don't know.:dunno:

You're right about the value of the experience... I don't know, I guess it would be a nice problem to have.
Well whatever is going to happen is going to happen. I just hope they play as many games as they can considering just about the whole team will be back next year..

The way they looked last night, I think its the former. They seemed loose and having fun, while focused on what they were doing. I don't think attitude is an enemy for you. It sure as heck is for UF right now, though.

Do you think Vitale's comments (Horford over Noah according to Billy D) hurt last night's game for FL? Or was last night more indicative of an on going problem from the past 3 or 4 games?

Our performance at South Carolina would suggest that enemy, while vanquished for the moment, still lurks...

Vitale's comments might have bothered Noah a little bit but he is a very competitive guy and so I can't see him thinking about it after the first three minutes. And it would not have affected the rest of the team, who were equally as ineffective.

No, the problem is much deeper than that. I still say hatvol got it right back in November. Its complacency, pure and simple. And they look like it.

Could the coach have some resposibility for complacency?

Sure, some. Its his job to motivate them. But it has to be tough getting them motivated to give their all for 30 game sleading up to the tournament when they were a shoo-in to get in and when they had won it all last year. Somehow, Donovan needs to get them excited about winning again. Right now, they don't seem to care.

Securing a one seed should be pretty strong motivation.
