I realized I have been very hypocritical where they are concerned. I constantly rip people for being hard on Allen Iverson, Ray Lewis, Sean Taylor, et al because they attack them for what can best be describes as personality/lifestyle issues. Well, I've done the same thing, to an extent, to Manning and Bradshaw. Just because Peyton doesn't roll with supemodels and Dane doesn't play the game with an angry edge doesn't mean I should diminish them. Pearl's intro of Dane during the pregame reminded me that college sports aren't just about guys who put up huge numbers and make all conference. College sports are also about the moderately talented kid who lays it all on the line for his school. Dane Bradshaw may not be the kind of player who gets you to a Final Four, but he is the kind of young man who brings honor to our university. I thought the fact Brad Nessler and Dick Vitale left the broadcast table to congratulate Dane spoke volumes.

I would be remiss if I didn't give Josh Tabb props. He got a loose ball offensive rebound in the middle of Florida's run that was key to us weathering the storm. Our lead was either 8 or 10 at the time.

Tabb is Dane-in-training. He's never going to score a lot of points, but I truly feel he will be a better player than most realize. And he's already a terrific on-ball defender.

I actually think Tabb will be a double figure scorer, especially if he eventually gets time at the 2. He is way too strong for most college 2s to guard in the post. We will be able to invert the offense because Chism can shoot it from the perimeter.

I agree with almost all your points hat.. But, I think Chism might eventually be the best freshmen of the bunch. I'm very high on Ramar, but I believe Chism has so many tools. His lateral quickness, balance for a big man, his ability to run the floor, his rebounding, his perimeter shooting, and now his ability to block shots has been showing the past few weeks.. Many people forget he had 19 against the Gators last time. He was on pace for another great game as well.(stuffed Noah and Horford, hit a three and dunked early on) Foul trouble really hurt his performance tonight.. But I think he will have a break-out year as a Sophmore, and he might be the best big man in the SEC in two years..

The reason I think Ramar is the better long term prospect is that he has a skill not normally associated with his position. I truly believe he will be a Jason Kidd quality rebounder from the point. While Wayne shoots better from the perimeter than most bigs, his skill in that area isn't as out of the box as Ramar's board work.

I can see that, they both have great potential.. It's going to be fun watching them in this style of play during their college careers.. Cameron Tatum will be another player you'll be high coming in next year hat.. And if we get McClain in the spring,(top big man left on board for 2007) we could be in the mix for a title run..

I've seen Tatum enough on the AAU circuit to say that I like his game on the offensive end, but as is always almost always the case, I am not sure he is tough enough on the important end of the floor. I do not see him being a huge factor next year.

I would have agreed with you last year, but he has really improved his game since he's been at the Patterson School. He's gotten stronger, better defender, better rebounder, and his passing has really improved. He's always been real athletic, as well as a good scorer in transition.(good perimeter shooter too) But, he has stepped up big-time in the games I've seen him play this year. You'll be pleasantly surprised at how much he has improved his game in the last year.
