Meachem just got more props on SportCenter. They also said that Calvin Johnson ran a 4.35 in borrowed shoes.

With the kind of money he's about to make, you think his agent would've ran out and bought him a pair.
He didn't plan on running. He is the best WR in the group, probably the best player overall so his stock is already to a point where running is not going to help him much. For whatever reason he decided to run last minute. 6'5" 230+ pounds not prepared to run and posts the 2nd best time in borrowed shoes.....this guy is a freak.

He is unbelievable. The one handed catch against Maryland is a thing of beauty. It's a shame Reggie Ball was his QB

Some guy on the NFL network said Ball is going to be the next Hines Ward. I just don't see it......he ran like a 4.8 40.

I don't see Swain being drafted with a 4.67. It would surprise me if he makes a team.

He's still got UT's pro day to show some speed

true i know he is a bigger guy and hope he can find a good fit but i was shocked at his time. I wonder when the last time UT had a starting wr that ran that slow of time since they are usually all about speed?

He did not play that slow... look at Cal he ran away from the DB's on the bomb up the hash. Ernest Wilford (Jags WR) ran somewhere around that time and still got drafted and he plays an important part in that offense. Anquan Boldin ran a slow 40 time and he set receiving records his rookie year. There is still hope.

dewayne jarrett runs a 4.65 and he's suppose to be the 2nd WR taken

pleas don't tell me you think the two are even comparable!!

Jarrett's stats: 3138 yards, 41 tds in 3 seasons

Swain's stats: 1721 yards, 10 tds in 4 seasons

if you take Swain's stats from last two years they total

1068 yard and 6 tds

Jarrett's sophomore year ALONE 1274 yards 16 tds

Swain is not close to Jarrett

Clearly the stats are in Jarrett's favor, and if I were selecting, I'd take Jarrett first. Still, I think Swain's production was hindered because of injuries. I think he's a really good WR. He's not first round material, but still a good one.

I agree...Swain's good enough to play in the NFL. He's not a track star, but he's not a turtle either.

He's a level-headed player who brings leadership and maturity and plays the position with a tough, physical approach. He's no first-rounder, but I think he'll find a roster spot with somebody.
