No way we get a 6 seed...

ESPN's bracket they have Vanderbilt a 5 seed and Tennessee a 9 seed. that will change.

Kentucky is also a 5 seed, Alabama a 10 seed, and Florida a 1 seed for 5 SEC teams now. Georgia dropped out, at one time they projected 6 SEC teams.

Well, just got finished looking at the Hall's Salvage Sports show, and they've pretty much said the same thing I've been saying.

They too implicated that UT would in no way get a 6 seed right now despite no one making such a claim?

I'm with hat on this one. Show me 24 teams that have a better resume than UT right now.

It'd be a long search to find 24 better resumes.

I think the selection committee will also consider that we dropped 3 of 4 games with our All-American on the bench...with him back, and looking more comfortable each game, we'll hit the tournament at full-strength. It's not all that far-fetched to see us get a 6 seed.

Vandy just won against UK
For Tennessee to get the 2-seed in the SEC tourney, our best chance is to win out AND Vandy lose at South Carolina AND either Vandy also lose to Arkansas or UK lose to Georgia. Unlikely, but possible. Also, mathematically, a loss to Florida wouldn't yet eliminate us from 2-seed contention.

In other news, I'd like to officially welcome Alabama to the 2007 NIT field.
That is hilarious, but I think Bama is in if they win their last two games this week to finish 8-8. UK, UT, and Bama are probably the only SEC teams that could go dancing at 8-8.
