SEC's best player.......by Joe B.

I don't know. The SEC, while still strong, has not been as good as a lot of people expected this year. And there aren't a lot of stand-out players this year either. Lofton and Steele have been hurt, Florida has too many guys who split the glory and the stats, Big Baby has had a somewhat down year on a bad team, etc. And so players like Byars get more recognition, and probably well deserved.

Like most individual awards, it's pretty silly anyway. Who really cares?

I'm not sure it is even strong. Outside of Gainesville, I see a lot of teams best described as somewhere between solid and dangerous, but nobody has been consistently good.

That being said, the best player in the league is Noah. If I had a vote for POY, it would go to Lofton.

Noah is the fourth best player on his own team.

A subjective, and in my opinion faulty, measurement. Noah is a 3,4, and 5 all rolled into one, and he plays each of those rolls well. He is the guy that causes matchup problems for everyone they play.

True..but I'd take Horford and Green over him anyday.

if noah didn't look funny, he wouldn't get anywhere near the credit he gets. the only explanation is, people feel sorry for a guy that ugly.

lol that opinion isn't biased at all... I'm sure you just love Noah.
I don't have any personal feelings, positive or negative, about Noah. I simply think he's vastly overrated and I would rather have Green, Brewer, and Horford if I were putting a team together.

I would take Corey Brewer over all of them.. He' a 6-9 small forward who plays excellent defense, can shoot from anywhere, has good ballhandling ability, and who is extremely athletic.. He is a huge matchup problem because he can play 1-4..
