My brother is a Major in the US Army. He has just gotten home and told me a funny story.
On base in Afghanistan the Port-a-toilet clean out trucks kept breaking down. after an investigation it was determined the vacuums were sucking up rocks. Where were the rocks coming from? The locals were wiping their azz with them and throwing the in the P-O-T.
The answer was clear. Make a cartoon drawing explaining the proper procedure for azz wiping and put them in the P-O-T.
We might not be able to teach the about democracy or how to set up a representative republic, but they will know about toilet paper when we leave.

Why are we there again?

you use what's around (when in the woods I try and remember to bring a roll but don't always remember). Do you really think toilet paper is as high on their list as running water and sanitation?

That's what is really sad about the situation. Apparently when we attempt to improve infrastructure they tear it out and sell it for scrap.

Edit: I've been known to use a shirt pocket when way out in the woods hunting.

which is a better point than them using rocks. I get it but Charmin will never be a necessity in certain places

and I've come back to camp missing a sock on more than 1 occasion

They usually wipe their azz with their left hand anyway. Don't really understand the rock thing. Nothing surprises anymore with those people.

like what

Probably most of the stuff we do. We think it's normal, but would seem absurd to other cultures. Giving "the finger," for example. In many other cultures it's a thumb, a flick of the nose, or some other oddity.

Oh, I've got one: Toddler pageants.

Cool story bro, how many combat tours to Afghanistan do you have?

Exactly....shut up.

so being there allows you to say whatever you want without being challenged? People all over the world are different. Heck people all over this country are different. Deal with it.

Serious question. I hear you really offend people over there if you show the bottom of your feet. Any idea what that's about?

Edit: having trouble typing today.

I wasn't finished....

They're a dirty people and their thought process is messed up. You ever seen a grown man kiss and touch a little boy and it be acceptable? Did you know that grown men have sex with young boys and it's ok over there?

I speak my mind.
