Conflicting rumors all over the place...(Kevin Sumlin)

He didn't, but there's no way you can tell me they were going to give the same fair shake to richrod they appeared to give Hoke.

Carr left a good position for him. He left the roster better than Phil did. Here's what killed Rich Rod:

1) The NCAA stuff. Michigan fans can be like Tennessee about the whole "We have never received NCAA sanctions, we are a clean program" kind of thing. That didn't help.

2. 3-9. Just like Dooley losing to Kentucky, they never could forgive him for it. It wasn't the fact he didn't make the bowl, it was the fact he basically embarrassed the football program and make it a joke.

3. The defense. Everyone told him the 3-3-5 wouldn't work it, and he still tried to make it the base defense, and it was just ridiculous how bad it was.

Now, Michigan made mistakes too.

1. They didn't want his style of football. It was simple. They want 4-3 defense with an I-Form offense, and that was the exact opposite of Rich Rod.

2. "A Michigan man will coach Michigan" is still the mantra of Michigan. They never trusted an "outsider" with the program. He didn't talk like them, act like them, look like them, and Michigan fans just didn't like him from the get go.

3. He improved by two wins in his second and third years, trying to completely change the style of Michigan football. The fans saw Harbaugh and Hoke (both Michigan men), saw that Tressel was still kicking Rich Rod's ass, and basically said "enough is enough." I think Rich Rod would have had a good team if he completley changed defenses and stayed out of it, but hey, Michigan is 10-2, beat Ohio State, probably going to a BCS bowl, and has a top five recruiting class. Not a lot to dislike right now.

From what LWS is saying about player defections, this place will be in howl mode for the next 12 mos.

When it happens let them howl.

No player or coach is more important than the University of Tennessee (unless you wear orange pants and remind everyone you had to deal with injuries and your players suck)

If the players are causing some of the issues with their bad attitudes, failure to do what they are told, then they need to go. You dont need guys that dont put team first

But somehow, some of you will twist it around and say its Dooleys fault.

How many coaches has T.O been through?

Still got a bad attitude and now nobody wants his ass

A bum knee and being 37 plays a much larger role than his "attitude".

You need a coach that will demand players to put the team first. When that doesn't work, show them the door.

Be honest with yourself and ask why any player would respect a coach, that has never won a damn thing, that consistently talks about how bad his players are and constantly uses injuries as an excuse as to why things aren't working. You can poor mouth your players when you have a proven system that's shown to win. You can't when, 5 seasons in, you still have a losing record. It's hard to say "the system works".

Cool, so you admit that you are cool with 5 win seasons, even though we are firing a coach for having one. Sound logic!
