This little piece of the lessons learned by Forde reveals why no one ever gets their mockup to look like the real thing winds up looking...

"Selecting is more important than seeding, and seeding can be a wildly fluid exercise. A "Soul Train scramble," according to Shaheen. There were multiple motions to move teams up and down several lines, and additional rejiggering to avoid conference conflicts or other matchups blocked by NCAA rules."

for those of you who say tenn got a good break last year by getting a #2 seed, you are wrong.

Tenn had to play WINTHROP and WITCHITA ST. and those were obviously no easy games. In the tournement, its not about the seeds, its about the match ups, and witchita st was much bigger than tenn...

I would've rather had a #4 seed in a different bracket last yr.
On the matchups part, spot on. The rest is just gibberish.

Hat, one of the foundations of the internet is the ability to link to other documents. I have seen you do it before (once), so you do know how. Would you mind explaining your refusal to cooperate? Is it the anti-conformist coming out?

This has annoyed me quite a few times, however I am genuinely curious.

I honestly never think about it. My posts generally stem from something I read. I make the assumption that everyone knows where ESPN's site is and can find it themselves.

There seems to be so many contingencies with Bracketology it's hard to get too excited especially when your team is riding the bubble, but, I'd take ND in a heartbeat on a neutral floor.

Thanks for the info. So from what I gather, the seeding is not as accurate as who is in and who is out. That is about all I care about for UT this year.

It's all garbage until conference tournaments start to take shape. Fortunately, many of the lesser (mid major, etc) conferences play their tournaments a week early and we can get some decent info about which of those teams is in. Until then, it's all moot.

Actually, it's not all "moot".. Teams like Florida and UCLA will probably get #1 seeds.. Unless they have a total breakdown, they have pretty much ticketed their way into a very nice seed.. Even teams like Memphis have their ticket punched.. Were close, but we need to win about 3 more to ensure a bid.

How's this: this conjecture is moot as it applies to everyone except those residing in the top 10-15 spots in the current AP and / or coaches' poll.

Slick Rick says, Tennessee will still get a decent seed if they get to 20 wins in the regular season. RPI and strength of schedule will help tremendously on selection Sunday. If Tennessee gets the 20 wins I think they get no lower than a 7 seed.

I would assume 20 wins would mean a first round exit in the SEC tourney- that would mean an 8 seed imo

I said SEC...I think you missed that.

But if you didn't then, yeah I definatly would agree with that.

I was just saying that losing in the first round of the SEC tourney would mean a lot lower seed than any of us would like.
