I don't know enough about Michigan history to say with any certainty who their all-time best DB is, but Ty Law seems to have been better in the NFL. Regardless, he was a really good defensive player, but the fact that he is the lone Heisman-winning defender makes it seem as if he is the greatest football player to ever line up on defense.
Not really. I think Deon Sanders was a better db than Woodson. All him winning means is that he was the most outstanding player that year, and I think he was. The best DB, and the biggest game changer on the national championship squad. Now, a db would never have a shot, but I guess it was possible in 1997.
