I know I am a couple hours late but, after the Vandy win, when the students were running on the floor, did anyone else see that Florida player (#3 I think) punch a Vandy fan? I swear I saw it, but everyone else that I was watching the game with said they didnt see it.

yea its all over the FL boards..Brandon Powell apparently "decked" a student on the court.

And I agree, storming the court is one of the worst things you can do. But I'd take a shot at an opposing fan, too.. Under the right circumstances.

This will probably result in new rules and fines regarding storming the court in the SEC.

There are already fines in place...5k, 10k, and 25k I believe. It goes up each time it happens.

I talked to the marketing guys after we did it last year. We had to fork out 5k for it, but they were willing to pay it.

Who was the coach a couple of yrs ago that decked an opposing player as they were leaving the field..

That's even worse than a player hitting someone.

Decking Vanderbilt students should not be illegal. In fact, it should be encouraged.

Does anyone have a link to the actual video? From what I read here, he may have felt threatened. Not justifying it, but I'd like to see it.

...as I have said before...charging the court has become so overrated and flat out dangerous..i understand the florida dude was probably acting in self defense..but he should be castrated for swingin at a fan..have we not seen this crap before? I mean come on dude, watch sportcenter...its goign to get caught!

Even if he was, Powell probably shouldn't admit to feeling threatened by a stampede of extras from Revenge of the Nerds.

Talked to my friend who was at the game (he is a Vandy fan). He didnt see exactly what happen or see a punch but did see the police escort at least 2 players off the court. According to my friend, the Vandy students ran up to the Florida players that were still in the game and were shaking the little shakers in their face and he did see one of the Florida players get shoved.
