I seem to remember 2 games against a team wearing orange last year and a game against another team wearing orange this year that he iced for us...
With two shots from a combined distance of 2 feet. I love when people act like he hit two contested 25 footers to win those games.

who says they need to be difficult? The truth is, no one else was in position to tip it in. He was the one playing good fundamental smart ball and got himself in position for the tip in.

Bradshaw has hit some big shots...i think doc was meanin any shot...bradshaw used to hit a couple of floaters a game now he cant hit a lay-up....just think what 6-10 points a game from him would add to this team...and howell wouldnt have subbed for Ramar if he was playin well...he would have spelled lofton as well and we coulda used a couple 3s those games...they would all be Ws if you throw in a couples threes for howell

That's my point. Lately he hasn't even been able to hit the two footers. We could use an extra 6 points per game.

if you throw in an extra basket from each of our 9 regular players, you have 18 more ppg....we can if if if allday.

Oh, I read your initial post too quickly. I thought you were talking about the two layups against Florida. I give him credit for the tip against OSU. However, that play also has nothing to do with shooting the basketball. He just can't shoot. There is now almost 4 years worth of evidence to back that up.

Ah, I had forgotten how enjoyable it is when the clueless newbies show up. "Hatevol." That's original. Have you ever considered a career in comedy writing? With that kind of rapier wit, you'll be working for greats of stand up soon.

Maybe you should work on having coherent opinions of your own before you start telling others what to think.

With all due respect these are message boards. Everyone can come on here and say whatever they want.

And for the most part while it seems negative hatvol whether people like to believe it or not is usually 100% accurate in what he says....

No I agree with Hat. He speaks the truth with more knowlege of the sport than a few people put together. But no it is not looking through solid orange glasses.

We make fun of bammers for doing the same thing.

Dane is a great asset to the team that we will miss next year. I am a big fan of Dane. But he is not a shooter!! That is not his role on the team. Hat never said Dane was a hack that didn't belong in orange. He siimply said we have never been able to count on Danes shooting because he has never been a SHOOTER. Leader yes, great two gaurd when we need one, great defensive player yes, shooter....no.

What games did we lose without Howell?
You answered your own question two posts down! In the losses to Vandy, Auburn and Ohio State R. Smith averaged a paltry three assists a game plus shot 9/19 from the free throw line in those single point losses. Even though he scored in the high teens offensively, those were not outstanding performances from a point guard (unless you like the Eric Marbury type).

When a point guard can only come up with a meager 3 assists playing almost 40 minutes a game that usually means the other players know he is only trying to score himself and begin to stand around on offense. Ramer has talent but isn't a C.J. Watson just yet, IMO.

1. Eric Marbury played at UGA in the early '80s.
2. The Ohio State guards would have had an absolute field day with Howell. They have four guys he couldn't hope to stay in front of defensively. He couldn't guard Derek Jasper last night. I would have loved watching him try to defend Conley, Cook, Lewis, or Butler.

Ramer Smith: nine out of nineteen from the freethrow line in those three games spelled losses for his team. I am not saying that J. Howell is better than Smith but his minutes played means a fresher Ramer in the last five minutes.

Why is our team playing better since Jordan returned. I think Pearl is a great judge of situational playing time for his players and if Howell wasn't a key cog he would not be gettin the PT that he has been getting lately.

The team is playing better because they've been playing at home. Howell's return certainly didn't help matters in Oxford or Gainesville.
